5.0 out of 5 stars This book helped raise my score from 620 to 750 in 3 weeks!!!
This book is a must for everyone, because EVERYONE needs a raise in their credit score, especially in today's economy.

I have been looking to refinance my home with a credit score average of 620 and it wasn't working out so well. I used advice and insight from this book and got my score up to a 750 average in 3 weeks! I really didn't have any money to work...

2.0 out of 5 stars Has good things...but very tedious
I am still struggling to get through this. It is more redundant than anything I have read since I used a professor's own text book in a class she taught. The author writes as though the reader is too stupid to understand anything that isn't said several times in suceeding chapters.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book helped raise my score from 620 to 750 in 3 weeks!!!, February 6, 2008
This review is from: The Road to 850 (Proven Strategies for Increasing Your Credit Score) (Hardcover)
This book is a must for everyone, because EVERYONE needs a raise in their credit score, especially in today's economy.

I have been looking to refinance my home with a credit score average of 620 and it wasn't working out so well. I used advice and insight from this book and got my score up to a 750 average in 3 weeks! I really didn't have any money to work with either. Of course, paying off your credit lines is the best way to get your score up, but I was very surprised to learn a few new tricks to do so without even having to pay much off! The credit score system is ridiculous and if you think you know it all, you don't!

I love how well this book is organized. It makes rather difficult insights easy to understand and easy to put into action and it really doesn't take much reading to get there.

Thanks to the authors and researchers who put this together, no other book or website I could find even compares.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Credit Book ever!, September 19, 2007
This review is from: The Road to 850 (Proven Strategies for Increasing Your Credit Score) (Hardcover)
Excellent book. Very well written. I learned more from this book in one evening than I thought I ever could. Al Bingham explains the myteries of credit and credit scores in a way that is easy to undestand. I felt I was pretty savvy when it came to understanding my credit score but little did I know. Highly recommended. The best money I have spent on a book in a long time. A+

5.0 out of 5 stars necessity for every person, April 2, 2009

This review is from: The Road to 850 (Proven Strategies for Increasing Your Credit Score) (Hardcover)
Credit score is a very important part of your life. High credit score opens door to the world. I know someone who's credit score is low and for him all the doors are closed: he cannot buy a car, a house, get a cell phone and even a job. None of the credit agencies would approve him for credit card. This book teaches every detail one have to know about credit score. It helps one to increase credit score if it's low, or maintain high credit score. I thought I knew everything about credit score (my credit score is 818), but reading this book, I realized that I maybe knew 5%. Every page is a knowledge. The author uses very simple and easy to read language. I recommended this book to all my friends and family. Believe me, you would not regret bying this book.

I believe this is a good book for individuals who know nothing about credit. It really didn't tell me much that I didn't already know.

It is well-written and the writer is trustworthy and knows his stuff. I would recommend it for anyone who wants to and needs to learn about credit and how to increase scores.

Quite frankly I believe it is sad that we all HAVE to have credit in order to get anything in this country anymore. I paid off and closed my credit cards and was quite proud of myself. That was the way we kept our credit good in my day, but in this day and age you have to be in debt to establish credit even to rent an apartment or buy a car. It's ironic. Whatever happened to having the money and being able to afford what you wanted to buy? When I was coming up some people were even told to close credit cards before they were approved for mortgages b/c of the potential to go into debt and thus not be able to manage the mortgage payment. Now it is the total opposite.

I still believe in cold hard cash. I always thought being liquid was the best way to go, but this book proves me wrong. My have times changed (for the worse).

I only gave the book four stars because I waited weeks before it finally showed up in my mailbox, but other than that the book itself is very good and has good information about credit and what to watch out for.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lots of Valuable Information, April 25, 2011
This review is from: The Road to 850 (Proven Strategies for Increasing Your Credit Score) (Hardcover)
I have been in the mortgage business for over 10 years and I thought I knew credit. After reading this book (it is more of a reference guide) I was able to help substantially more home owners purchase and refinance a home by educating consumers on how the credit scoring system works.

This book is not about credit repair!!!!! It is about credit development and I thank the author for helping close a few more loans every month.

Only solution maintain good credit for 12 years for it to be an excellent !

Al Bingham does a great job of unraveling the mystery of credet scores. Not only is the information great, but the presentation is also excellent. Its easy to read. No need for a college degree to interpret what is said. If you want to know what factors are used to create credit scores and how you can improve your score, this is the book for you.

2.0 out of 5 stars Largely useless, April 8, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Road to 850 (Proven Strategies for Increasing Your Credit Score) (Hardcover)
This book contains some good information readily available online packed between a lot of fluff. It makes statements like "Too many accounts can lower your score" and "Too few accounts can lower your score" without ever saying how many is too many or too few. This pattern is repeated in nearly every section. There may be some gems of wisdom hidden in there for people with specific credit problems, but I found it largely useless.
