5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Music by America's Favorite Quartet, August 8, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Proven Time & Time Again (Audio CD)
This latest project by the Kingsmen is one of their best, in my opinion. I have purchased each of their projects since 1992 and have some prior to that (Big and Live, Chatanooga Live, etc.) and I think this one has to rank with the best they have ever done. One reason for this is the excellent vocalists the Kingsmen have. Jerry Martin is one of the best tenors in the business today and "Angels in Flight" and "Going Home to Live" will convince you of this if you are not already. Parker Jonathon is an excellent baritone and his performance on "The Next Cloud" and "A Much Better Way" certainly will not disappoint any Kingsmen fan. Ray Dean has to be the best bass singer of his generation, and although he is not featured on any one song on the recording, his performance on all the quartet numbers is unsurpassed. Bryan Hutson is the most underrated singer in Gospel Music today and his lead vocals on these songs certainly bring that fact to light. His two feature songs on the recording "Without Jesus" and "I've Never Trusted You" have to be my two favorite songs on the recording, and the quality of Bryan's vocal performance on these songs should set a new standard of excellence for Southern Gospel music. If you have not heard this excellent recording, be sure to pick one up today. You don't want to miss out on hearing this Southern Gospel masterpiece.
