About the Author
Marsha Drake is like many Christian women today who try to reconcile their desire to be godly, submissive, wives and mothers with the other things they want out of life: excitement, respect and a sense of fulfillment.
Unlike some, she has not lost her sense of humor. Her third book, The Assertive Woman and Other Anomalies, takes a lighthearted look at the anxieties and insecurities of married life, and gently uncovers the hidden attitudes that produce these feelings.
Having been a "working mother" working both inside and outside the home, that is Marsha is well qualified to assess the challenges that come from having to juggle both career and family.
In 1976, she graduated with a BA/Ed, majoring in both Speech and Communications, minoring in English and Education. Later she went on to work in various branches of writing, including journalism and freelance writing. In addition to her writing, this mother of three boys teaches writing courses for the Capilano College Extension Program. She has been published in a number of Christian magazines, including Charisma, Virtue, and The Christian Writer.
Marsha's first two books are The Proverbs 31 Lady and Other Impossible Dreams, published in 1984, and The Submissive Wife and Other Legends, published in 1987
