This book has been very good in guiding me on the basics and preliminaries of giving the very best care possible to my mother. It has been my checklist on what has been completed, what needs to be done, and what to anticipate. Every family should have this; it prepares you thoroughly for the inevitable in life.

If only I had this book prior to now so that I could have been better prepared to deal and cope with all the decision-making involved. A wonderful guide.

I think this is a very practical guidebook to have. I have been suddenly thrust the responsibility of caring for my aging mother, with 2 kids of my own I just didn't know how to deal with this. The details here are realistic because it gave me the course of action I needed to have the primary concerns of caring for her working, both for her and for me so that we could resume living our normal lives.

This book is not about dealing with emotions and feelings. It is straightforward in discussing the most practical concerns that directly impact the senior individual --- their priority need for someone to take over their life and care for them --- physically and also the other vital material issues of daily living. The tone of the book is very business-like in telling you that "hey, this is the elderly person's priority need, let's deal with this first of all and set aside the feelings and emotions to be dealt with later when all the business matters have some semblance of order."
