This review is from: Proxxon 37006 KS 115 Bench Circular Saw (Tools & Home Improvement)
I own three Proxxon tools - the MF70 mini-mill (excellent), the IB/E rotary tool + drill press stand (also excellent), and the KS 115 saw.
Out of the box, the saw could barely cut 1/8" balsa wood without bogging down. Switching to the tungsten blade (a $30 accessory) I managed to cut through a few pieces of circuit board material but only by inching along and waiting for the blade to crawl back up to speed every few millimeters. So, I took the thing apart and found lots of things that appear to be questionable or outright broken. 1. The blade guard wasn't secured properly, causing it to tilt downwards and bounce on top of the blade. 2. The plastic belt drive module was bolted to the motor with a huge amount of torque, causing the module to bend and the bearings in it to bind up. In addition, two thin brass washers that were intended to go on the bolts between the motor and the belt drive were too large to fit in place due to a clearance issue with the flange on an adjacent nut. Sometime during manufacturing they'd slid off to the side and the belt drive module was later cranked down on top of them, tilting the motor a few degrees off-axis from the belt. These things combined to throw the belt off just enough that it rubbed against the pulleys on the motor & blade shafts, causing so much friction that you could barely turn the blade by hand. 4. The bearings on the blade shaft have about 1/3 mm of lateral play, enough to make long cuts wobble. 5. The status LED circuit contributes to the motor's tendency to bog down - bypassing it improved the recovery time considerably. 6. The motor itself has a ton of friction. -------------------- I don't know how this saw made it past quality control. I've cut through far beefier stuff using wimpier tools, but this saw is incapable of handling even my lightest tasks. I'm sure I've thoroughly voided my warranty by now, but I'm going to do my best to get my money back anyhow - this saw isn't worth the plastic it's made from.

That safety device on top of the circular blade is just not well designed. I am thinking of removing it before it causes an accident. The guide with the adjusting degrees should come with a bolt-lock to the table so it don't drop everytime you move the device from one place to another.
Nevertheless, it is a great product and I am thrilled. I give it an A-

I've been using this for about three years now, and really like it. I use the saw almost daily in the construction of electric bass pickups. I mostly use it with the carbide blade to cut lexan and with the steel blade to cut circuit boards.
The only issue I have had was recently the blade started moving from side to side, so when using the fence to make cuts, they wouldn't be the same. I had to take the saw apart and try and tighten the arbor on the motor shaft, which seemed to fixed the problem, as it hasn't returned. But as I said it took over two years for the problem to show up. If I were to buy it again, I would go with the tilting arbor version, because the blade is height adjustable.

I bought this one for the company, and used it to cut PCB 0.064 inch thick. to separate each PCB from Panel format. after pick and placed in machine. it cut individual PCB well without much vibrations or stress to parts on PCB. it must be used with fine Diamond cutter blade to cut PCB however, which is optional blade.
