Proxxon Scroll Saw DSH/E with 15-3/4 inch throat is super-silent with electronic stroke control with speeds of 200-1400 strokes per minute. This saw is perfect for scroll saw relief projects, precision mechanics, model building, toy and puzzle making, designs, architectural models, and restoration of antiques. Also ideal for school training centers. Even with its superior cutting efficiency, the DSH/E emits only a quiet hum while cutting wood up to 1-1/2 inches (50 millimeters), plastic up to 13/16 inch (30 millimeters) and non-ferrous metals up to 13/32 inch (10 millimeters). It also cuts effortlessly plexiglas, fiberglass, foam, leather or cork. The free swinging saw blade holder takes standard saw blades with pin ends. Blades without pin ends may also be clamped safely by means of a toggle screw. The slender saw arm allows for a clear view to the back of work piece, and a quick tension release lever is ideal for frequent inside cuts. The dust blower with adjustable nozzle ensures clear sight of the work piece and cutting line. The machine is made from solid cast iron with rubber feet to minimize vibrations (may also be bolted down). Has large work area with 14-5/32 inches by 10-1/2 inch table that can be tilted 45° for miter cuts. Has powerful 110-120 V AC, 200W motor. Overall size is 21 inch length by 10.5 inch width by 12 inch height and weighs 44 lbs.

This is the perfect machine for tool and die making, model building, toy repairs, puzzle sawing, architectural work, antique restoration, etc. It operates problem-free, even when cutting acrylics, fiberglass, polystyrene foams, rubber, leather and cork.The unit offers a super cutting capacity (wood 1 1/2", plastics 1 3/16", non-ferrous metals 25/64") and yet runs with only a hum. The air blower with adjustable nozzle provides clear visibility of work piece and cutting line. The unit's machine base of cast iron offers the needed stability for vibration-free operation. The sturdy aluminum die-cast table tilts up to 45°, allowing a lot of special effects like incised lettering, sawing chamfers, inlays and marquetry. The twin cast iron saw over arm with ball bearing direct drive is equipped with a practical handle for quick and easy adjustment of the blade tension. Standard commercially available pin blades can be rapidly fitted and stored in the special compartment on the side of the machine. As well the clamping jaws also allow the use of plain end blades, which are as well easily tightened with the included T-Allen key. The machine comes complete with 5 each coarse and fine saw blades. 1. Ideal especially for all internal cuts (impossible with band saws and circular saws). I borrowed this machine from a friend after my dremel had died( 5 long years of work 2nd hand). Much to my dismay this machine wouldn't hold onto a 1/32" blade. I don't know if it was a defect with this particular model but the lower blade mount just couldn't grab onto it. It was very hard to access the mount as well, and it needs to be tightened with an allan key instead of by hand. Whenever i started it up it would pop right off. What kind of a scroll saw cant hold a 1/32" blade? Rhetorical question a useless one.

The Proxon 37090 DSH/E Scroll Saw is the best scroll saw my husband has ever had , and he has had many saws . Since he has had it he has cut out so many wood crafts its going to take me a year to paint them ( He cuts, sands and I paint them and he puts on the sealer). He was so unhappy with the saw he had so I did a computer search for a new one and the only one that sounded good was the Proxon on Amazon ,so we took a chance and ordered it and we are not sorry, in fact we are very happy with it. We have so many pattern and painting books now we can make all kinds of things for gifts for family and friends.

Good build quality. Saw is heavy,stable and easy to work on. Instructions are skimpy and difficult to follow, but set-up and adjustments are straightforward.
