5.0 out of 5 stars Best album I have in my collection., February 22, 1999

These guys topped their last album "Black and White" with a little more swing and blues. Every song is a blast to listen to and you'll get addicted, guarenteed!

5.0 out of 5 stars Seen through his eyes, August 18, 2003

At center stage Doug "The Professor" Bell leads the audience through mainstream America as seen through his eyes. With stories about Prozac, coffee, the IRS, and, oh yes, LOVE (remember Lila), the Professor dances, sings, and plays his way through the trials and tribulations of the times we all live in. The Professor will, on occasion, take time out to play some pretty fine guitar, but his main feature is that of the showman. Spinning tales of hit men and black and white cartoons, you'll laugh, cheer, and think a little too much about everything the professor has to say.

5.0 out of 5 stars CD Review - Prozac Nation, August 18, 2003

Their swing is quite good, which really got me into the album, but when I heard them do soul as well, I was sold. These guys are very versatile, so it's no wonder they're creating quite a buzz in the swing world. I'll give this disc an A.

5.0 out of 5 stars I loved Doug Bell with Numbers..., August 2, 2002

...playing with standout vocalists Don Hill and Dave LaValley but he really hits his songwriting stride here with the Cadillac. Clever lyrics and hook-laden changes abound, this one keeps coming song after song. Great stuff from Doug and the boys.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Professor teaches us a thing or two about swingin', February 16, 2000
This review is from: Prozac Nation (Audio CD)
Doug "The Professor" Bell writes some of the smartest music and lyrics in the swing scene today (or any day). Bellevue Cadillac has some of the finest musicians in the business. All bands should be lucky enough to have a singer such as Gentleman Joe Cooper in their outfit. This man's voice is amazing. Being a huge fan of swing music (both old and new) with an extensive music collection, I can authoritatively say this is one of the best modern swing albums released to date. Actually, it holds its own against some of the classics as well. I hope you enjoy this album as much as I do.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Superb, Platinum Quality Work of Art, May 16, 1999

"Prozac Nation" is definately Bellevue Cadillac's best album. Their relaxing lounge style sound such as "Cuppa Joe" can instantly change into a high powered, dance-able feel like the hidden thirteenth track, "Who knew?". Five stars to Bellevue Cadillac on this masterpiece of a CD!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Hard work in small rooms pays off since CCB till now, April 17, 1999

A nice evolution from some guys who used to chase away the "Dog Man Blues" at a time when it seemed "There Aint No Hope" back in the days of the Elbo, Harvey's # and backyards with kegs. Well worth whatever price to hear their variety of smooth sounds

4.0 out of 5 stars An interesting band. Sure worth a listen., February 10, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Prozac Nation (Audio CD)
Bellevue Cadillac has a winner here in "Prozac Nation." Great swing arrangements combined with some of the most interesting, thought provoking lyrics of the late 90's. A couple of weak tunes keeps this one from being 5 stars, but you'll still be glad you bought it. By the way, there is a track 13 not listed on the cd cover about 2 minutes after track 12. Be sure you find it. It's one of the best songs on the cd.
