Very good, Godly, wholesome reading for your family.,

This review is from: Prudence and the Millers (Paperback)
This book was a gift to our six year old and he reads it again and again. Now it's 6 month later and it looks a little worse for the wear but is dearly loved. My son learned a lot of useful lessons and also discovered people in the real world wear dresses and headcoverings just like Mom. Praise the Lord for Mildred Martin and I can't wait to get my hands on another Miller book!

I highly recommend this book (and all of the Miller series by Mildred A. Matrin). The stories are short enough to keep my child interested, and pointed enough to ensure that he learns the morals behind each story. A delightful read for anyone who wishes to bring up their children with a moral basis in life.

This is a fabulous book. My children really love the "Millers" books, as do I. It covers topics on how to take care of yourself in a very creative and memorable way. Topics include healthy eating, healthy sleeping habits, and dental health. If you like wholesome family values then you will love the Millers books.

I have both Prudence and Wisdom. If you are a parent that wants to have quality time with your child around Biblical topics that are related to their level, these books by the "Millers" are outstanding. Mind you, they are not stories that are loaded with the latest technology gadgets and gizmos which, in my opinion, will make these timeless. These are very brief, about 3 page chapters, that address matters such as the way of the fool versus the way of the wise being directed by the LORD. And it even deals with sins that children see in their everyday life as well. What we do is use a single chapter at a time. Then, I pose questions to my children, who are under 7 years old, that help bring the lesson to them. Often we are able to build on the topic by taking examples right out of our day to bridge to the chapter read. What is really encouraging is when your child gets the scripture that is being taught and can use it with their own personal experience. I would highly recommend this series to those families that are searching for something that brings the Bible into the hands of their little ones without losing them with the topics that they may not be able to comprehend at the moment. The author does a good job of taking the passages that a child can comprehend and wraps them around stories that have almost a "Little House on the Prairie" genre to them. Very pleasing and refreshing. I hope the author will write more like these. |
