About the Author
Heather Ferris M.Ed (Canadian Certified Counsellor) knows psoriasis intimately since it first showed itself in 1963. In fact it was probably responsible for her interest and training in psychology and healing. Heather teaches counselling psychology at City University Seattle (Victoria BC campus), has a counselling practice in Duncan BC and teaches internationally bringing a healing focus to training and education.

Heather Ferris was born in South Africa in 1946. Her ability to face suffering was nurtured by a severe manifestation of psoriasis at 17 years, the death of her husband at a young age and her unwillingness to participate in racist, apartheid South Africa. She moved to Canada, California, Australia landing back on Vancouver Island in 1987, following a path of self discovery and healing on many levels.
Heather has been a writer since childhood. Besides Psoriasis Healing from the Inside Out she has written five children's books and many papers, manuals and curriculum. She works in Canada teaching counsellors and in South Africa with teachers, grandmothers, social workers and caregivers who are affected by the grief of HIV and AIDS. Three books to help children in their grief written by Heather Ferris: Someone I Love Died (2007) in five local South African languages, I am not alone (2009), and a workbook for children who are grieving.

I didnt find anything new in the book. To be fair, I have been reading alot from other books, so there was no revelation for me. It probably would be good for someone hasn't read other sources.

I have just finished haft of the book. It makes a better senses than most Doctors and Dermatologists telling you. I appreciate the fact that the writer shares your psoriasis experience.

It's a wonderful book from the insider's viewpoint. She had psoriasis and conquered it with diet and proper attitude. I have the same approach and am working to create a Legacy Trust to send people to the Dead Sea in Israel for sea, sun, diet and meditation spa treatments. [...][...]
