5.0 out of 5 stars bridges a generational gap, July 5, 2003

This review is from: Psychedelic Souls (Audio CD)
This album should be called one of the greatest, hardest raggae albums ever! This has something for everyone. Finally an enjoyable album that won't offend anyone. I found myself singing along with this stuff with a sixty year old woman... what a trip!In short I would hardily recomend this to anyone and everyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best ever..., July 13, 1999
This review is from: Psychedelic Souls (Audio CD)
This collection would be worth owning even if it contained only My Sweet Lord. This version is the best ever of Harrison's great spiritual anthem. That the album also has excellent covers of all the other songs included makes it a must not only for reggae lovers, but for everyone who appreciates serious groove and soul.

5.0 out of 5 stars Symbiotic irie tunes for a white rasta, April 19, 1999

Listened to this fantastic recording for the first time on the cliffs at Tensing Pen, Negril. Perfect counterpoint to warm seas and gentle breezes. Bring on the Souls, we want more CDs!

4.0 out of 5 stars Classic Rock with a Jamaican Twist!, January 27, 2012

I played the heck out of this CD when it first came out, but somehow misplaced it a few years back. I have tried tracking it down on itunes or other digital formats, but ended up buying the CD again here.

Featuring the surviving members of Sublime (as collaborators), this album boasts some great reggae covers of classic rock songs. My favorites include "A Whiter Shade of Pale," "Love the One You're With," and "Like a Rolling Stone."

If you're a fan of these classic songs, you should give it a listen, as these are excellent covers that are well produced.

5.0 out of 5 stars RaggaRemakes, February 22, 2010

Few remake albums are as original as this one. The songs are made to fit the Jamaican experience. The sound quality exceeds that on most cds. I particularly like their take on "Like a Rolling Stone", the Beatle's song, and Hendrix's "Waterfall". Buy this cd and gtoove to songs that now fit this generation, too.
