entheogenic lite, April 9, 2007
This review is from: Psychedelics (Paperback)
an entertaining and informed primer that achieves a lot with a friendly manner and a concise approach. Features some interesting sidelines on the various personalities involved through the years and contains some fascinating images and photos.
Most who will be attracted to this book (government officials notwithstanding) will already have a lot of this information in their libraries; Stafford does, however, deliver an amusing and informative overview that can be taken in a manageable but worthwhile dose.
I enjoyed it!

Title grossly mislabeled, March 8, 2011
This review is from: Psychedelics (Paperback)
When i saw this copy in the book store I was really excited. It has a artsy cover and on the back it says " Psychedelics is a wealth of information about one of the most controversial issues of modern times. Stafford weaves scientific research, personal accounts and popular literature into".. oh hell, you can read the back cover for yourself here on amazon.com. Trouble is,it purports to be a book about general psychedelics. Its not. A better title would have been LSD emerging, history and development of LSD or something similar. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed the writing, style and the information. Perhaps it was a publishers decision and Stafford was left out of the decision process. But if your looking for a good book on the history, development, major player in LSD this is a great start. My 2003 copy has 191 pages.
