Yay! An easy read!
I really love this mental health text book due to the fact that it is easy to read. One of the things I noticed about a lot nursing text books is that they are very wordy and have a lot of fluff. Evidence... that nursing is not science based
This book is terrible. It cites wikipedia as a source. The author goes off on tangents telling the reader about her childhood. The different psychological aspects are oversimplified and outdated. Sorry, but direct Freudianism is dead. Unless, oh wait, your a nursing student. This outdated crap must be your forte. Every attempt at explaining a drug simply says: This drugs...

I really love this mental health text book due to the fact that it is easy to read. One of the things I noticed about a lot nursing text books is that they are very wordy and have a lot of fluff. This book was required for my mental health class and I'm glad because this is an excellent book.

This textbook seems to be a thorough examination of pshychiatric nursing. Goes in depth into different illnesses and is very helpful in the psychology nursing course.

I had to use this book for the psych portion of nursing school. It is very informative, easy to read, and affordable. To help supplement the book, pick up the Davis's Success guide (psychiatric success??) for appropriate NCLEX questions. The only draw back is that this book does not have NCLEX style questions in it.
