5.0 out of 5 stars A Psychiatric Study of Myths and Fairy Tales, May 22, 2000

This review is from: A Psychiatric Study of Myths and Fairy Tales; Their Origin, Meaning, and Usefulness. (Hardcover)
This book is an excellent introduction to the various means of analyzing fairy tales. The author gave a thorough explanation of the concepts detailed, and I really liked the fact that various approaches to the analysis of fairy tales were given. Heuscher gave differing views upon each fairy tale, showing how the views differed, and how they would often complement each other and bring out new meanings in each. The book tackles not only individual fairy tales, but also examines themes (death, golden hair, etc.) which run through many tales.
