For psychiatry, the Blueprints book at the time was just average. So I ended up reading this book as well as the NMS series psychiatry book. This little book is packed with information on diseases, diagnosis, and drugs. It also has sections on writing orders, progress notes, etc.. for psych patients. Plus, it is small and can fit in just about any lab coat. I highly recommend this book for the psych rotation.I found the NMS book to be very slow reading and it was difficult to make it all the way through it--partly because of the subject matter, but also partly because of the book itself. Blueprints pscyh + this little book may be all that you need for that rotation in medical school |
