In theory, this book is a good idea, but it has WAY TOO MANY typographical and informational errors to be even considered remotely helpful as a review book! I am constantly finding myself to double check the information presented as my knowledge is superior than the book. I would not recommend this book as a review source - especially since this was 3rd edition book - its extremely surprising and quite sad that this book is still in circulation!

I like the format of this book for quick review. However, there were some errors in it, despite the 'updated' version (why are they still talking about droperidol???). But, I think the key to this book is that some chapters really had good, high-yield facts, and some chapters were terrible with overly wordy explanations and seemingly random tidbits that didn't feel particularly high-yield. In particular, the neurology chapter (which should be a priority!) and the HIV chapters didn't feel very helpful. But, if you use this for a quick, not too intense review just before the exam after using more solid books, I think it can be useful.

This board review book is well written. All of it's contents are high yield. The Q&A format of the book, and it's layout reinforce some of the major points. While the book contains a lot of useful information, it is a rather enjoyable and quick read. This review book is nice and simplified and should help streamline your studying.
