This book, along with the earlier work " The Psychic Vampire Codex" by Michelle are excellent lesson books for those who wish to learn how to work with energy.
For those of us who work with energy on a regular basis, this book is a great help in developing a strategy for doing just that. There are many comprehensive and detailed subjects in each chapter. Owing to an obbvious long term study of psychology( a MUST for anyone interested in either occult OR basic energy work), Michelle also devotes an entire chapter to personality types that are problems.
The only complaint I have is that I wish this work was around 20 years ago when I was beginning my foray into the world of unseen energy. (Smirk).
Needless to say this book is a must have for anyone who is serious about energy work and it is written to be of help for anyone along this path.

This book is excellent for beginners just wanting to look into, and understand psychic abilities and phenomena, as well as those interested in developing such. Michelle takes you rationally and easily through a variety of beliefs, theories and exercises to expose you to a wide section of psychic abilities.

While this book is excellent for beginners, it is a great resource for people who are more developed/experienced, as it will introduce them to more concepts and theories, as well as showing you were commonly believed ideas (e.g. rainbow chakras) came from.

The Psychic Energy Codex is more than just a book about learning how to use or become aware of one's psychic energy. The history and the complexity of psychic energy is included. I found out things in the book I never would have before and just because Ms. Belanger may subscribe to a darker form of energy work, doesn't mean that this book has to be that way. It's from her well-educated and well-researched point of view. Along with discussion psychic energy was also her discussion of group dynamics and the teacher/student relationship not only when it comes to energy work, but also the practicalities of both of these topics that provides much food for thought for the reader. Its a great read for those wanting to know a bit more in depth about being aware of one's energy make-up.

Ms. Belanger's approach to a subject as elusive as the subtle senses with a down-to-earth, no-nonsense style is a true delight.
She masters the "craft" so well, and while introducing begginners into this realm, she also speaks to more "advanced" empaths and sensitives about any enquiries they might have.
I was very pleased to see that this lady does indeed stress the difference between innate senses and mental disorders, and although the line is a very subtle one between the two, she somehow is able to explain the difference.
The "energy" I felt around this book was a very positive one, mixing both Earth and Air in a rare but powerful combination.
And what is most enjoyable is that she was able, through her flowing and simple style, to make the reader understand that there is no clear-cut experience for, let's say, the human aura (among others, for it is the most "stereotyped"), and one is indeed able to "feel" the aura without "seeing" it, as is usually understood. For example, one can "smell", "taste", "hear" it, according to one's "proficiency" in any of the subtle senses.
This is a tour-de-force that few can accomplish.
I highly recommend this book for any and all empaths and sensitives, for they will understand what is "wrong" with them and why they should consider themselves lucky to be "awake".

This is an excellent sourcebook for anyone involved with or interested in psychic phenomena. Even with years of experience under my belt, I found this a useful book with many helpful exercises. I was especially impressed with her guidelines for running a group, as well as the final chapter, which gives excellent guidelines for relating to the world in new, energy-appreciative ways. Michelle has once again proven her skills as a consummate teacher and author.

I admit, I bought this book due to the reputation of the author, and once again, Ms. Belanger did not let me down. Some have compared this (unfairly, IMO) to her previous work, The Psychic Vampire Codex. Even for those who identify has psychic vampires, I can't help but recommend this book as a supplement. She makes no bones about energy work being a path of learning, practice--and practice and practice and practice.

To my delight, I found she oriented a lot of her material towards the solitary practitioner, aware that one would not always have access to an understanding partner, a detail I find sadly lacking in most books on the same subject. Thank you for another great gift to the occult community.

Michelle Belanger shares her in-depth knowledge of all aspects surrounding psychic abilities. She gives the reader insight into her progressive views on religion, energy, and much more. Ms. Belanger provides exercises to help better distinguish between our readily accepted 5 senses and the psychic sense we all possess to some degree. Other exercises help you test and develop psychic abilities. Compared to other books I have read on the subject, "The Psychic Energy Codex" is a combination of valuable information and a fantastic workbook one can use and refer to again and again.

I gave this book as a gift to a person who has a budding interest in this topic area. The person had watched the cable show "Psychic Kids" and was asking a lot of questions which I couldn't answer. Hence, I bought this book afer researching the other possibilities available. After having a brief "look inside" the book and reading the online reviews, "The Psychic Engergy Codex" is a good choice for a general, basic survey of the topic. By that, I mean that it will appeal to a wide audience who also are asking questions about this very intriguing topic and,the author writes with extensive knowledge of the subject matter. By the way, the person who received the book has told me that it is really fascinating and has raised even more questions for them. One note of interest, some who are considering purchasing this book might take offense at the author's views on mental health. That is the only drawback I can find.

An intelligent guide to dealing with psychic energy that's written in an easy to understand format.

This book gives all audiences a clear and hands on approach to working with energy as well as learning it with others. Michelle does a great job with the lesson plans along with enforcing the idea of keeping a journal to track the progress of your energy work. I would highly recomend this book even to a beginner who has never worked with energy because Michelle explains it very clearly and doesn't leave anything out but allows the readers mind to wander with more thoughts on the subject.
