Luck, Intuition and Foresight.

The book begins with these attributes as the foundation and uses the latest from the frontiers of quantum physics and combines that with material that the author derives from the ancient Hindu Upanishads that were written in the first millennium BC. What is interesting is the intersection between what is being found in Quantum Physics and what was written thousands of years back in the Upanishads.

The key assertion is that humans have an energy field and this can be controlled and amplified by the human to manufacture luck and significantly improve intuition and foresight. Obviously, if you are able to do this, you will win in gambling. Quantum Physics agrees with the theory that human observation can help define a state for matter and the Author borrows text from the Upanishads that shows that humans can alter matter through the use of their energy fields.

The book provides specific strategies and techniques to build and amplify this energy field in games such as Poker, Blackjack and Slots. The poker chapter makes for interesting reading. Covered, for example, are pre-flop situations, post-flop situations and special case situations. It is an interesting theory that when an energy field is empowered it allows the human subconscious to dip into the "ether" and pick up information not known or understood by the conscious mind. The chapter on Slots has specific techniques to influence the RNG (Random Number Generator) inside the computer chip that powers these modern gambling machines.

This is perhaps the first ever book published that takes spiritual psychic powers inside a casino and uses them in winning money! Irrespective of whether you believe in or dismiss psychic powers it is worthwhile to read the book if only to understand the power and potential of human energy field and its possible applicability in gambling and other situations in life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Could give you that winning edge!, June 10, 2010
By
(Note: My firm provided the publisher of this book with pre-press services. Nevertheless, I read it like any buyer/customer would.)

The author opens the book with a discussion of luck, intuition, and foresight - and how each can affect "winning" in games of chance. He explains that certain physical laws and mathematical probabilities apply, yet are supplemented (surrounded) by energy fields that can be controlled - or at least used to one's advantage. That's what the Psychic Gambling Supersystem is, in essence - a set of applied techniques for understanding and channeling energy in a way that gives a good player an extra edge.

This book is not another one of those "can't lose" gambling systems in the traditional sense of that genre. It assumes that the reader already understands how to play casino games, and can play them intelligently. What this book seeks to do is enhance those practical skills with psychic abilities.

To that end, the book thoroughly and effectively presents the steps and exercises one must complete to develop and apply such abilities. The author relates his own personal experiences and psychic beginnings growing up in India, explains the three key components of the Supersystem (methodologies with ancient roots that have been practiced successfully for centuries), and outlines the keys to systematically applying each component to activate one's psychic abilities in a casino gaming setting.

The big question, of course, is "Will the Supersystem work for me?" It is much like a legitimate diet plan or exercise program. It won't work for some, while others will swear by it. (Hey, you ARE a gambler after all, right?) Applying and practicing the techniques takes time and patience, and concepts like the superconscious, synaesthesia, chakras, mantras, and energy fields will likely be too far out of some readers' comfort zones. However, if you have an open mind and do as the book instructs, you will almost surely develop a psychic edge at the table.

5.0 out of 5 stars If not for that 4th martini!, May 31, 2010

I bought this book on my iPhone! It is so cool! I used the Kindle reader for the iPhone. The pictures and illustrations show up nicely on the iPhone.

I saw a post on this book mentioned in a poker forum. Psychic what??? I have read psychic books in the past about trinkets and amulets and such but that is bogus. I wondered if this was one of those shoddy books that asks you to wear pink underwear and carry a fig leaf in your pocket. Also, I am very leery of self-published books. Low quality stuff, that suspect authors peddle to make a quick buck. I can assure you that this book is very well written. The psychic spiritual stories are beautiful and the language and composition are superb. The book brings together many different things in a neat package. It is the law of attraction working in association with energy centers in the body that are called chakras and the system is activated through the use of mantras. Some suggestions and techniques (supposedly from thousands of years back) seem so outlandish; I thought they just might work! You would literally laugh at these techniques if not for the believable extremely convincing narrative by the author, and various scientific studies he cites to support his theories.

I know that even though poker players claim to be rational many are extremely superstitious. Why, that famous poker player that won the World Series (Johnny Chan?) carried an apple around with him because he thought it brought him luck? I heard that Phil Ivey once stormed out of a casino when he felt that the dealer had bad vibes and was bring him bad luck. I suggest that they read this book and perhaps it is their energy field that is messed up and needs help and not carry a silly apple or cuss at the dealer!

I did try a few techniques from the book at the poker table. I kid you not; my very first hand was pocket Aces! I didn't win a big pot, because as is the case in the early stages of a tourney, most people are reluctant to commit too many chips. I can't tell you whether it is my skill or my energy field or both but I made the final table. I got eliminated in the 8th place and really had a shot at the first place but the fourth martini messed me up.

I have read a lot of books on various spiritual and scientific subjects. I've read books on the Law of Attraction, I've read books on the power of the subconscious mind, I've read books on quantum physics and I've read books on eastern philosophy. As I read each of the different books, I felt that there was a connection within all the subjects, but no one book really put them all together... until now.

Sunil Padiyar successfully explains the hottest topics in spirituality and science. He masterfully shows the links between quantum physics' subatomic world, the subconscious and conscious mind, the law of attraction, your five senses and living in the moment, the power of air and water, and your chakras and how to activate them with mantras. All of these subjects have interested me in the past and I have explored each one. But no one has ever tied them all together like this author. I finally see the links between the known and the larger world we are just getting to know.

Padiyar is from India and has the benefit of understanding eastern philosophy first hand. He shares many stories of his adventures, including several times he was spared from serious bodily harm via reciting mantras. He also shares amazing stories of psychic revelations he was first hand witness to.

I recommend this book to anyone who has an interest in harnessing the hidden power which lies within all of us. Padiyar expertly shows how all the spiritual and scientific pieces fit together. You will learn how it all ties together into one whole, and how each variable is part of one universal equation. This was a great book that I will keep close and refer to often.

5.0 out of 5 stars The more you practice, August 16, 2010
This review is from: The Psychic Gambling Supersystem (Paperback)
I don't know if you're like me. Before I got this book I admit I was sceptical yet intrigued, and when I opened and started to read I became more intrigued.

In the process of explaining his supersystem, Sunil Padiyar takes us on a fascinating trip, and back in time, exploring ideas that date back to the Vedas, using a combination of elements, telling us stories about gurus in India, which are somewhat beyond our normal sense of reality, yet are consistent with other accounts I have read, such as in Autobiograpy of a Yogi.

As I have a great interest in energy medicine, metaphysics, memoir, and metaphor, this book pushed all those buttons. He talks about Luck, Intuition and Foresight, even delving into quantum physics, activating the chakras, including palm chakras, using methods that have been used by gurus for thousands of years, using mantras and so forth, and the whole system can be activated within five minutes.

I remember the famous golfer Gary Player was told: 'You're just lucky.'

His response was: 'It's funny. The more I practice the luckier I get.'

I don't gamble, although sometimes I do go to casinos with friends. So I find this book not just applicable for gambling but a metaphor for life in general. Sometimes life is a gamble, and we have to rely on our wits, we don't have all the cards, and we don't know what cards the other person or person are holding, and some people don't play with a full deck. We don't know when we are in danger, but we can develop a sixth sense or intuition about it, and learn from experience. By doing certain things we improve our luck.

I discussed this with a friend who has been to India and spent months in an Ashram, and she wanted to borrow my copy. She can get her own copy.

The last chapter of the book deals with specific game strategies. I think the system he describes has merit, and now that I have finished the book I do plan on experimenting with it, not only the next time I go to a casino but for developing focus, and life in general.

Some people are born lucky. If you were not born lucky, isn't it good to know that you can create your own luck, you can develop your intuition, and with foresight you can create better outcomes. And, it's like anything, the more you practice the luckier you will get.

I hope this review was helpful to you.

5.0 out of 5 stars A rich tapestry of metaphysics, philosophy, science, mysticism, and gambling, June 12, 2010
I am not much of a gambler - unless of course you count investing in stocks - which given the roller coaster rides we have seen on Wall Street in the past couple of years - seems worse than gambling :-). However, I am interested in science, spirituality, and the connection between the two. I picked up this book to read on the plane during one of my recent trips. Once I started reading, I could not put the book down. For those new to Indian philosophy, the following quotes from a few scholars, philosophers, scientists, and writers might help get a sense of what a good part of this book is about:

Max Mueller: "If I were asked under what sky the human mind has most fully developed some of its choicest gifts, has most deeply pondered on the greatest problems of life, and has found solutions, I should point to India".

Rele: "Our present knowledge of the nervous system fits in so accurately with the internal description of the human body given in the Vedas (5000 years ago). Then the question arises whether the Vedas are really religious books or books on anatomy of the nervous system and medicine".

Colonel James Todd: "Where can we look for sages like those whose systems of philosophy were prototypes of those of Greece: to whose works Plato, Thales and Pythagoras were disciples? Where do I find astronomers whose knowledge of planetary systems yet excites wonder in Europe as well as the architects and sculptors whose works claim our admiration, and the musicians who could make the mind oscillate from joy to sorrow, from tears to smile with the change of modes and varied intonation?"

John Archibald Wheeler: "I like to think that someone will trace how the deepest thinking of India made its way to Greece and from there to the philosophy of our times".

Apollonius Tyanaeus: "In India I found a race of mortals living upon the earth, but not adhering to it. Inhabiting cities, but not being fixed to them, possessing everything but possessed by nothing".

Francois Marie Arouet Voltaire: "I am convinced that everything has come down to us from the banks of the Ganges, - astronomy, astrology, metempsychosis. It is very important to note that some 2,500 years ago at the least Pythagoras went from Samos to the Ganges to learn geometry...But he would certainly not have undertaken such a strange journey had the reputation of the Brahmins' science not been long established in Europe..."

Richard Waterstone: "There is a striking resemblance between the equivalence of mass and energy symbolized by Shiva's cosmic dance and the Western theory, first expounded by Einstein, which calculates the amount of energy contained in a subatomic particle by multiplying its mass by the square of the speed of light: E=mc^2".

Arthur Schopenhauer: "The influence of Sanskrit literature on our time will not be lesser than what was in the 16th century Greece's influence on Renaissance. One day, India's wisdom will flow again on Europe and will totally transform our knowledge and thought".

Friedrich Maximilian Mueller: "Whatever sphere of the human mind you may select for your special study, whether it be language, or religion, or mythology, or philosophy, whether it be law or customs, primitive art or primitive science, everywhere you have to go to India, whether you like it or not, because some of the most valuable and instructive materials of the history of man are treasured up in India and India only".

Louis Francois Jacolliot: "And then India appears to me in all the living power of her originality; I traced her progress in the expansion of her enlightenment over the world; I saw her giving her laws, her customs, her morale, her religion to Egypt, to Persia, to Greece and Rome; I saw Jaiminy and Veda Vyasa precede Socrates and Plato, and Krishna, the son of the Virgin Devajani precede Christ, the son of the Virgin of Bethelehem".

Hari Ram: "You live in time, we live in space. You're always on the move; we're always at rest. Religion is our first love; we revel in metaphysics. Science is your passion; you delight in physics. You believe in freedom of speech; you strive for articulation. We believe in freedom of silence; we lapse into meditation."

Carl Gustav Jung: "When a religious method recommends itself as 'scientific', it can be certain of its public in the West. Yoga fulfills this expectation. Quite apart from the charm of the new and the fascination of the half-understood, there is good cause for Yoga to have many adherents. It offers the possibility of controllable experience and thus satisfies the scientific need for 'facts'; and, besides this, by reason of its breadth and depth, its venerable age, its doctrine and method which include every phase of life, it promises undreamed of possibilities".

Alfred North Whitehead: "Vedanta is the most impressive metaphysics the human mind has conceived".

Emerson: "When Confucius and the Indian Scriptures were made known, no claim to monopoly of ethical wisdom could be thought of. It is only within this century (in the 1800s) that England and America discovered that their nursery tales were old German and Scandinavian stories; and now it appears that they came from India, and are therefore the property of all the nations".

Octavio Paz: "The Hindu genius is a love for abstraction and, at the same time, a passion for the concrete image. At times it is rich, at others prolix. It has created the most lucid and the most instinctive art. It is abstract and realistic, sexual and intellectual, pedantic and sublime. It lives between extremes, it embraces the extremes, rooted in the earth and drawn to an invisible beyond".

Sir Monier-Williams: "Indeed, if I may be allowed the anachronism, the Hindus were Spinozites more than two thousand years before the existence of Spinoza; and Darwinians may centuries before Darwin; and evolutionists many centuries before the doctrine of evolution had been accepted by the scientists of our time, and before any word like 'evolution' existed in any language of the world".

H. G. Rawlinson: "Almost all the theories, religious, philosophical, and mathematical, taught by the Pythagoreans were known in India in the sixth century B.C."

Heisenberg: "After the conversations about Indian philosophy, some of the ideas of Quantum Physics that had seemed so crazy suddenly made much more sense".

Sunil has a wonderful talent for weaving together a narrative that goes from science to metaphysics to Eastern philosophy to gambling that makes for very entertaining yet informative reading. This is a book, like Robert Pirsig's "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance", that I will keep going back to. Need I say more?

If you don't - no matter how "interesting" the reading, history, and pseudo-science - the proof of the pudding is in the tasting (so to speak). In other words ... does this actually work?
