When Hearts Conjoin, a biography of the Herrin family and their conjoined daughters, Kendra and Maliyah, came to Lu Ann through her association with New York Times Best-Selling author Richard Paul Evans.
"I was presenting at a conference that Rick was sponsoring for prospective authors when I heard Erin Herrin present her pitch for a book about her conjoined twins," Staheli says. "Of course, I had heard of the twins on the local news in Utah, and during the pitch, the thought came to me, 'I wish I could be the one to write that book.' A few months later, Rick and his publicist came to me and asked if I could write the story. It was kismet. I met Erin, and we clicked right away. Nine months later, we had a finished book."
Proceeds from When Hearts Conjoin go into a medical trust fund for Kendra and Maliyah.
