This review is from: The Psychic Madman (Paperback)
If you've ever seen Jim Karol perform at a nightclub or university, then you have, for sure, been amazed. This book offers insight into the highly complicated mind of one of America's foremost psychic/magical/comedy entertainers. Jim is very candid with the reader and it lends a whole new understanding into what makes this bizarre genius tick. This is a quick easy to read, and highly entertaining and engaging book. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO ALL!!!

An Amazing Journey,
By
This review is from: The Psychic Madman (Paperback)
Reading about Jim Karol's early years and his discovery of how powerful the mind (and HIS mind) is was downright fascinating. Following his journey from events like dreams that impacted him to how his goals of learning to use harness the power of his mind with everything from memorization to danger-defying acts was nothing short of amazing. The best part? He says that everyone has similar abilities and shows how readers can develop their own minds. Doubt I'll ever try the bear-trap thing, but I'm inspired to expand my own abilities.

Fascinating!,

This review is from: The Psychic Madman (Paperback)
Psychic Madman is a fascinating insight into the "super" mind of Jim Karol. At the age of seven, Jim has a dream--the first of many. He starts to notice a pattern that the things he dreamed about eventually happened. At first he decides it's just a bizarre set of coincidences, but as he tracks the events he senses are about to happen, something amazing happens. He realizes he has psychic powers.
Jim spends the next years learning more about his gift and how to use it. Not only can he predict events, but he has an incredible ability to memorize numbers and dates. He also discovers he can do things naturally that magicians use secretive methods to perform. An incredible journey that is fascinating at every turn.

Short read but . . . wow!,
This review is from: The Psychic Madman (Paperback)
Okay, so you know that friend of yours who always has these amazing stories to tell? The one who you're never entirely sure how much really happened and how much is embellishment? That's the way I felt when reading this book. "Wait, you did what?" Except the things he did, he did in front of thousands of people, on national TV, in front of scholars. Without giving too much away, Jim does everything from bending nails with his bare hand (don't even ask what he does with bear traps) to memorizing the zip codes of every city in the U.S. He memorizes an entire deck of cards cards in a minute. Then he tells you that you can do the same thing.
The great thing about this book is that Karol--and Staheli who co-wrote the book with him--show you how the same techniques that let him pull off these amazing feats can be used to improve your life. My only complaints are that I'd like the book to have been a little longer. You can read it in a few hours. And I'd have like more information on exactly how he Karol does what he does. But I guess a showman can't give everything away. Very enjoyable read!
