2.0 out of 5 stars Good directory but should have TESTED the psychics as well!, November 5, 2000

This review is from: Psychic New York: A Guide to Astrologers, Tarot Readers, Psychics, Palmists, & Numerologists (Paperback)
Althogh this is a good directory, the author didn't bother to let a period of time go by so she could report on whether or not the psychic's predictions ever actually came to pass! She merely describes their reading style and leaves it to the reader of the book to gamble on which psychic to go to.

Paula Roberts, Frank Andrews, and Alexander Mallon were all impressive while Carolyn Clarke and Kathleen Karter were two of the worst and most inaccurate psychics I have ever met.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great concept but mediocre evaluation of psychics, September 27, 2005

This review is from: Psychic New York: A Guide to Astrologers, Tarot Readers, Psychics, Palmists, & Numerologists (Paperback)
I was very excited when I first came across this book as I thought it would clarify which psychics are worth consulting. Unfortunately the author is rather vague and I find it rather appalling that there is no mention of accuracy whatsoever, which I assume is the primary focus of any would-be client.

After disappointments with Kim Allen (is she psychic??) and Clarke I thought to try Fahrusha as I had seen her listed in Hans Holzer's book also. The phone number was wrong as are several others in the book but found it through her website and when I managed to get an appointment a couple weeks later I was surprisingly pleased. Fahrusha has a down-to-earth approach to readings and answers specific questions with straight answers. Among other things she accurately predicted the outcome of a lawsuit I had at the time, that I was in urgent need of a dentist which would be costly, and that I would be vacationing in the far east within 3 months. She first gives you her impression and then reads the cards for further detail which is precise.

Although I feel very lucky to have found an accurate and amicable psychic I feel the book as a whole is rather incomprehensive as many famous New York psychics are not included and some of the information is outdated.

2.0 out of 5 stars I think that I will stick to recommendations from friends!, November 8, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Psychic New York: A Guide to Astrologers, Tarot Readers, Psychics, Palmists, & Numerologists (Paperback)
I left a review of this book earlier and wanted to add some more info for those who are considering going to any of the people mentioned in the book. Of the people I saw: Einstein, Clarke, Saulter, Karter, McInearney and Andrews, the only one that I can recommend with any confidence is Frank Andrews. I was most disappointed with the others above.

If you want details go to Frank Andrews, he, unlike the others, knows his stuff.
