This book take the scare of the the scary. I recommend this book to most of my clients who are dealing with the unknown or the metaphysical. Yes, that sounds sorta silly, but the boogieman can scare even the strongest of minds. This book educates and defines areas on the metaphysical realms.

This book identified several different possible ways that I could open myself to negative energy and what to do about it. My experience is that focusing on going toward wholeness is the best protection of all! The more I experience being whole, the less anything attracts me or "harms" me.

Techiniques are offered to test out the ideas presented in the book. Some of the ideas are common sense, some are new to me. There are some maxim's that jump out of the page, and I found something applicable to me right as I read them. Jumping around the chapters suited me best. I found it interesting with alot of information for a lot of different situations.

The formatting of the book I found extremely hard to read. The print is large enough, but the font and style of typeset is a dizzying array of no-indentation paragraphs. It's like reading one giant run-on sentence. This is unfortunate since this guy knows his stuff when it comes to this subject. I think there is a lot of psychology applied to the psychic protection theory of John-Roger. I think the information applied here to psychics could also be used for any mental health professional(minus the references to entities and ghosts). This book was recommended to me by a medium who recognized my psychic gifts and saw how I was internalizing every problem of everyone I met which was making me sick. With the applied information of this book I have been able to put a boundary on my "aura" or personal space and make myself well again.

I read this book as part of a masters program. Conceptually, this book was a bit out there for me. A few of my friends had a similar reaction. If I had it all to do over again, I wouldn't read this book.
