More About the Author

INGO SWANN was internationally known as an advocate and researcher of the exceptional powers of the human mind, and as a leading figure in governmental and scientific projects to investigate and identify the scope of subtle human perceptions.

Since 1970, his name and work have been incorporated into most contemporary books about PSI and the "paranormal." He was featured in four volumes of Time-Life's bestselling series entitled Mysteries of the Unknown. His contributive work has achieved broad media notice and been featured in every major American/British television documentary on the subject of PSI phenomena and Remote Viewing. Swann has been interviewed and/or profiled in dozens of magazines, including Time, Reader's Digest, Smithsonian and Newsweek.

Swann's early work in parapsychology, as a noted and highly successful "guinea pig," made him a psychic superstar in that field. His subsequent research on behalf of American intelligence interests, including that of the CIA, won him top PSI-spy status. His involvement in government research projects required the discovery of innovative approaches toward the actual realizing of subtle human energies. He viewed PSI powers as only parts of the larger spectrum of human sensing systems.

Swann was the author of over ten books and also a visionary artist. Of his ten books, only Purple Fables, The Secrets of Power, volumes I and II, Reality Boxes, and The Wisdom Category are still in print. Penetration: The Question of Extraterrestrial and Human Telepathy, Psychic Sexuality and The Great Apparitions of Mary are only available in e-book form via Crossroad Press and are otherwise out of print.

His paintings can be found at The National Air and Space Museum, the Association for Research and Enlightenment (A.R.E.) and The American Visionary Art Museum.

Swann never developed, produced, created or participated in any mass marketed remote viewing training program, whether in print, video or DVD. Any videos of Swann regarding remote viewing are from lectures he gave on his research at various conferences. He did, however, make his autobiographical memoir, Remote Viewing, The Real Story, freely available on his website.

I read this book several years ago and loaned it out and it was lost. I found his story about his glass chair magnetism experiment extremely interesting, how it turned on his psychic perceptions so much that it "ruined" his life for a year until he got them tamed down. He was able to see acupuncture points on people's bodies, for one thing. I still wish I could get ahold of a copy to read about the glass chair electromagnetism experiment again, so that I could attempt the experiment myself, but alas, I'm not willing to spend hundreds of dollars for a copy of this out-of-print book. If anyone can summarize the formula here in a review, that would be wonderful.

I like reading Ingo Swann, especially the non-fiction. He knows how to build a case logically and in a ballanced way.

As usual, Ingo Swann starts at the beginning and used the first half of the book to offer a history of things "Psychic", while not directly on topic as far as the title is concerned, he manages to precis a few hundred years of history in that field very well, while at the same time offering subtle and direct insights into how and why things were, are and will probably be in future, precisely because of how people are....
I know, but it is a piece well worth reading. It creates a context, the best I've encountered.

The actual descriptions of what psychic vision reveals of the various stages of arousal in all its permutations, for both sexes, is mind-blowing.
I won't call this book a must-read, but biographical pieces of one who has been involved formally and personally in the "paranormal" for decades is a gold-mine of facts, and insights.

The book doesn't teach anything, so those who seek third eye vision or the like are better off rreading Shadows in the Twilight: Conversations with a Shaman for an excellent ontextualisation, or perhaps something by Stuart Wilde. Get the context, then chase the goal.

I have read the book and have created a chamber much like then one the Greens built, but on a smaller scale. It works! For those who can't afford an investment of this scale you can find important excerpts this out of print work on scribd.com But know that to building this chamber is not a cheap endeavor. Good luck. Also do a search on YouTube for Mahatma's mirror meditation chamber to get a visual.
