Good new series, February 3, 2010
This review is from: Psycho Busters 1 (Paperback)
This is a fun story, focused on a 'normal' teenage boy, Kakeru, as he gets involved with a group of psychic runaways from a secret government research facility. Joi, the pre-cog leader of the gifted teens insists that he is an important and powerful psychic, but Kakeru just sees himself as an average teen, despite some extremely unlikely occurrences that keep him alive.
A supernatural series aimed toward teenage boys (a naked girl astral-projection into Kakeru's room starts his interaction with the psychics), the story is well done and the characters engaging. The psychic abilities are diverse and reasonably developed, and the fight scenes are exciting without being over-blown. I am currently on volume 3, and looking forward to continuing to read the series. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys supernatural or action manga (YuYu Hakusho comes to mind).
