Editorial Reviews

One of the most original and eclectic members of the glam/funk scene. Re-release of the band's debut album from 1989. The LP delivered great metal riffs, funky bass lines, intense drumming and LeSte's wide vocal range, easily mixing glam, hard rock and funk. Includes big hits - ""Breaking Up a Heart of Stone"" and ""Someone Like You"". New digipak edition, limited to numbered 2000 copies. Re-released on a golden disc. --This text refers to an alternate Audio CD edition.

5.0 out of 5 stars REAL METAL!!!, September 10, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Psycho Cafe (Audio CD)
I remember the first time I saw the video for "Someone Like You" on MTV. I had to run out and go buy the album. I was 11 at the time so that was no easy feat since I lived in Iowa and Bang Tango was not exactly at the top of the hair band heap. However, they were hands down my favorite band and I have probably listened to Psycho Cafe more than any other album I have ever owned. Joe Leste was, in my opinion, the best screamer of the 80's (possibly only tied with Sebastian Bach) and I remember being completely disappointed by Dancing On Coals because it wasn't Psycho Cafe II. I like it better now, but this album will always remain of my favorites of all time. I only wish I was old enough at the time to go to a concert or something. Sorry that this isn't as much a review as it a remebrance...but you should check this out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Blast from My Metal Past!, August 28, 2000
By
This review is from: Psycho Cafe (Audio CD)
Got the CASSETTE back in 1989 by accident. Being too lazy to return the tape, I just played the damn thing and Bang Tango grew on me and my high-haired girlfriends cruising to The Catclub and The Scrapbar in NYC. The songs are pretty diverse and while the lyrics aren't the most significant poetry you'll ever hear, the tunes are so catchy! And these guys can play!!!

I'd be curious to know where they are now and what they're doing...in any case, I'm dying to get my hands on this high-energy blast from my metal past! Highly recommended to you thirty-somethings who want to do the same.

5.0 out of 5 stars Psycho Cafe is definitely a keeper!, December 20, 2001
This review is from: Psycho Cafe (Audio CD)
I first got this cd back in 1989 when it was first released - and it's still one of my all time favorite rock albums. The music and lyrics are catchy and Joe Leste is sooo awesome! It's withstood the test of time for me - a Definite keeper!!! Recommended highly!
