"B" movie collector MUST, May 28, 2011
This review is from: Psycho Kickboxer / Canvas of Blood (DVD)
This movie is by no means EVER going to win an award.....well maybe a crappy movie award. If you like quality movies this is NOT for you....BUT if you are like me and LOVE horrible acting, action, and film making, this is a must!!! I laughed so hard while watching this. Anyone who collects B movies needs to have this. If you like Movies like Troll 2, you must own. If you like movies like The Notebook, you have problems, AND you won't like this.

False advertising; 1 is not a horror movie; both are low-budget crap-polish, December 7, 2011
This review is from: Psycho Kickboxer / Canvas of Blood (DVD)
I bought this for the "Psycho Kickboxer" movie after looking at the cover, which shows a ninja w/shirt off kicking a guys head off; I was expecting a fresh new take on the slasher genre: basically violent Friday-the-13th style killings done with martial arts and insane genius etc. Well, this movie is basically just a revenge martial arts movie (and not a gory one; decapitation never happens), and even includes a black guy in a wheelchair to help train the kickboxer a la Rocky who appears to be a bum that lives in a warehouse.
About Canvas of Blood, I just fast-forwarded through it. I think it was by the Brain Escape studios, which, if you don't know about them, you kind of know what they are about from the title. This one, unlike their softcore releases, just has a few moments of nudity and aside from that, I didn't really bother to see what was going on. But seeing as how they are all about your brain-escape, I can't imagine I was missing too much, but it is at least a horror movie, which might be enough for some.
Both of these movies do seem to sort of deliver what they promise: the kickboxing movie, while falsely advertised as horror, does give you some fights, although low-budget and not exciting; and the same with the horror movie, it does seem to give you some horror but low budget and not exciting. All seem to be trying to be above their budgets and also be like big budget movies, which themselves are crap; so, these movies are basically like trying to polish a piece crap and make it look like big-budget crap-polish, but is really just low-budget crap-polish.
