val valerian's title stolen? well- for a good purpose!,

the fact that the title of this cd is the same as Val Valerian's great book of his Matrix series(part 3) was reason alone to buy this album. first the production- cause that is the first thing people notice. Stoupe enmemy of mankind(producer) is one sick mf. he reminds me a lot of dj muggs- an unknown producer who does great work but goes under-appreciated. Stoupe gets off with his beats. this cd has a very dark/shadowy production to match the topics covered by the lyrics/story lines. Stoupe (hopefully) will one day be ranked up their with dr. dre, timbaland, dj muggs as beat innovator. he work on other jedi minds tricks and canibus's new cd is top quality-instant classics. then comes the lyrics. wow! the subjects covered does a good job of trying to match Val Valerian's book. vinnie paz is great. so are the special guest. and the children of babylon get down. so overall, beats get 9/10 and lyrics get 10/10. hey- if you get the chance- read that book from Val Valerian- wheww!!!

dimensions of the mind,
This review is from: The Psycho-Social CD (Audio CD)
This album is absolutely incredible. In fact it may be my favorite album of all time, not just hip-hop, but overall favorite (although Led Zep III gives it a run for its money). It took me about 7 or 8 listens through before I truly fell in love with this disc. The first time I heard it I thought it was just kind of wierd with a lot of biblical references. After many listens however, the stuff just seeped into my brain and blew me away. People who think that the lyrics are sub par on this album are idiots. They simply don't understand them. The album isn't strictly biblical either, in fact most of the "biblical" references aren't from the bible at all, but rather the Apocrypha, the Pseudepigrapha, the Gnostic Gospels, and other alternate writings about Christ and God that are not part of traditional religious teachings. The album then delves into conspiracy theories like "Jesus Christ was really an ancient astronaut" and other such sweet insanities. Also there is dialogue of Kevin Spacey from the movie SE7EN cut in (they've done this on other albums as well, I believe Pi is on VBD, and Boondock Saints on VOG), which gives it a kind of creepy feel.
All I really have to say is that this album is cool. And by cool I mean totally sweet.

Psycho-Social,

Alright, lets break it down. Usually this album gets positive feedback, but alot of people listen to Violent by Design first and expect this to sound the same.......thus they are disappointed. This has alot more unique sound than VBD, but the production quality is not as clean. Dont let that throw you off though. PsYchoSocial is just as (if not more) mind bending than any other jedi mind release, (though I dare say visions of ghandi will top them all)with references to government conspiracies throughout. Pick up this CD if you want to see the roots of JMT and get a thoroughly enjoyable listening experience....you wont be disappointed.
