About the Author
Dr. Bruce Brackenobtained his Master’s and Doctoral degrees from the University of Georgia. During his career, Dr. Bracken has published more than 120 articles, reviews, book chapters, tests, books, curricula, training CDs, and videos. He authored the
Bracken Basic Concept Scale-Revised,
Bracken Concept Development Program, Multidimensional Self Concept Scale, Assessment of Interpersonal Relations, and he co-authored
the Universal Nonverbal Intelligence Test. He has edited three editions of the text,
Psychoeducational Assessment of Preschool Children, the
Handbook of Self-Concept, and he co-authored the
Essentials of Nonverbal Assessment.Bracken co-founded and has co-edited the
Journal of Psychoeducational Assessmentfor more than 20 years, and currently sits on the editorial boards of eight national and international educational and psychological journals. He has recently published three new tests—the
Clinical Assessment of Behavior, Clinical Assessment of Depression, and Clinical Assessment of Attention Deficit. Bracken has chaired the American Psychological Association’s Committee on Psychological Testing and Assessment, and served as APA’s Delegate to the International Test Commission, which he now serves as Past-President. He is a Fellow of the APA in the Division of School Psychology (Div 16) and the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychology (Div 53). Dr. Bracken is a Diplomate and Fellow in the American Board of Assessment Psychology, and he recently served on a panel for the National Research Council of the National Academies of Science.
