This review is from: Psychological, Social, and Educational Dimensions of Deafness (Paperback)
This book covers alot of subjects in regards to Deaf culture and the individuals within that community. There are so many aspects to deafness such as age, the family are they hearing/deaf? How do the parents raise them, what belief systems will the grow up with about themselves? What school, location their development, cognitive function, do they have other disabilities as well? There is a medical perspective, social/psychological perspective and cultural perspective. It's alot more than just a culture book.It is interesting and covers areas I never thought to think about or didn't know where "issues". It is easy to read, so I am able to cover a lot at one time. It is definately a book you could keep as a reference in your library.
