May be the best ($) you can spend on yourself,

I came upon hard times and was looking for a way to improve my mindset. Didn't have the energy to read, so found this Title used through Amazon and thought while I drive it would be better to listen to this than mindless music. It has been a transforming experience. As I listened, I realized how I was self-defeating myself and how badly I needed to change my attitude. The tape goes into detail with examples and the narrator's voice comes across with knowledge and a real feeling of wanting to share his insights from a great deal of research. I have since made some amazing changes to my life such as lose 52 pounds and run in the NY City Marathon, and I never, ever dreamed I could. This tape has lead to me to purchase many other tapes to listen to as I drive. It's great, it an education while sitting in traffic and you don't mind the traffic nearly as much. I will say that I have listened to many tapes now, but this one really has been the most valuable. It is ashame it may get lost among the thousands of tapes and books out there on Self-Improvement.

I purchased the cassette series a while ago and listened to the first tape and wasn't that impressed. Brian kinda lost me on the "I LIKE MYSELF" affirmations. To me it was just a little too touchy-feely. Thankfully I just recently listened through the rest of the tapes and am very pleased with the overall content. I am definitely planning to listen to it again. And next time I will take notes during the program.
The set covers everything from child/adolescent development issues, parenting, work, frienship, relationships in general, work, life, happiness, spirituality, etc. It is amazing how many different areas are covered with these (6 or 8?) tapes. What I found most helpful with the tape series is there is a section on goal-setting. Specifically how to figure out what you want. And with me I always have a harder time figuring out *what* goals I want, not with achieving them. Brian shows a framework and method of figuring out what your goals should be, then describes tools to pursue them. I have gone through many many courses, seminars, tapes, books, and his method is the most cohesive I've run across. All in all this is a very worthwhile tape series. There is something there for everyone. And it's arranged in a progressive manner, which helps lay out the thinking, planning, etc. Although for me, some parts were a little too touch-feely. Still highly recommended.

Beyond the plethora of taped and printed materials on psychological theory, this offers a down-to-earth, '1-2-3' steps and techniques approach to immediately apply to situations in my personal and professional life. I listen to the set on a regular basis for emphasis and rejuvenation.

This Is An Incredible Piece Of Work,
By
This review is from: The Psychology of Achievement (Audio Cassette)
This tape is unbelieveable. I really followed the advice given on this set of CDs/tapes and had quadrupled my income in less than two years.
The author/narrator oulines proven methodologies to achieve personal and financial success. Some of the techniques he describes have been mentioned long time ago by Napoleon Hill in his book "Think and Grow Rich". However, Brian Tracy says it more eloquently and in a more organizing fashion. Believe it or not, many of my friends consider me as a great motivator to other people. And one of the reason is I just tell people what I have learnt from these CDs/tapes. It is my strong belief, that anybody who wants to REALLY improve his/her life, WILL DEFINITELY achieve his/her goals by listening to these CDs/tapes AND doing one more thing. And that is after buying this set of tapes/CDs, he or she simply has to follow the guidelines outlined by the author. And the guidelines are extremely simple to follow. To one it may appear unbelieveable that such simple steps can bring such an incredible result. One only needs to follow the steps to actually see the tremendous power that these simple techniques have. I wish I had two extra stars. I would have given those extra two stars to Brian Tracy on behalf of the person who gave him a three star in one of the reviews.

Excellent Motivation for Anyone who wants to succeed,
This review is from: The Psychology of Achievement (Audio Cassette)
The Psychology of Achievement by Brian Tracy is perhaps the most useful set of self-help audio courses I have ever listened to, and I am a self-help audio book "junkie"... I listen whenever I am driving. If you never listen to any other course by audio, this is the ONE to buy. It is like handing you a how-to guidebook for navigating life's ups and downs successfully and happily. Brian, from a difficult background himself and with no formal higher education, literally "pulled himself up by the bootstraps" and achieved great success and happiness in all dimensions of his life. He has "taken notes" all the way and given away all his great, and easy to apply, tips that gave him his success. This is an audio set that I will give my children and grandchildren when they are in early teens, and it will be the greatest gift I'll ever give them.
Brian guides you step by step into the most important attribute you can achieve: building a positive self-concept, which is the key to your whole life. Even late in life you can develop this with the keys Brian gives. Then you can learn to accept responsibility and take charge of your life by choosing your actions and your re-actions, as YOUR choices determine your life. Then he goes further to teach you how to program or re-program your thought patterns to get rid of fear and worry and develop positive visualization and affirmation instead. With that kind of thinking hyou can set goals and work toward them with confidence in tiny, incremental steps each day. You'll learn how to attack problems creatively and make good decisions. Finally, you will learn how to create successful and rewarding personal relationships with everyone in your life. What else could there be more important than these keys for success and happiness? Order the set for yourself and your loved ones and business partners today.

Not a bad book with good suggestions on goals, responsibility, etc. I agree with the previous opinion that the reader sounds like a salesman, but he still did a good job. While I don't feel that I am starting a whole new beginning after reading this, I do feel that it was worth the time.

Nice... just nice,

Well, I like to listen to educational and motivational audio tapes while I'm driving. Keep that in mind when you hear me say that this tape is a nice one. I think it's nice because it educated me about psychology, however my life didn't change and I still make my lousy monthly salary as I did before I bought this tape! LOL The worst part about it (I guess) is that the speaker (also the author) sounded at some points like a salesman... or in other words, insincere... but that's just my opinion. Anyway, it's not a waste of time, and considering the price I think that it's not a bad decision to get it :)
