Psychology in Action 9e,

What's annoying is that Chapters 17 and 18 are NOT included in this textbook. They're mentioned and broken down in the Table of Contents, which I found misleading. I discovered in the last few weeks of my Psychology class that I needed Chapter 18, so FRANTICALLY I was able to borrow a classmates booklet of Chapters 17 and 18. Why are these chapters not part of the actual textbook???
Other than that, I can happily say I got an A in the class and I am sure it is because of how the book is setup. There are pictures and diagrams throughout the textbook and summaries at the end of each chapter. Very enjoyable to read!

This kindle book was absolutely terrible to work with for class. It was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with any form of technology.
First of all, there are no page numbers so good luck trying to follow along in class. It gives you a percentage of how much of the book is complete but not a page number. It would be great if there was an option to view it with the original page size but no, have fun guessing where the rest of the class is. Is this feature too hard to include? Many of the diagrams were too small to see. Even on my computer the words in some diagrams are simply illegible due to the size. Oh, it's a computer so maybe you can zoom in? Nope. There is no way to zoom in on these diagrams so if any important information is included, you're not going to get that. On the other hand, images that normally take up one full page will often be split down the middle, onto two separate pages. *click* see the first half, *click* see the second half. If you accidentally highlight something (really easy to do, takes 2 clicks) there is no way to remove it. What? Why? I understand that if I highlighted something in a real textbook, I couldn't "undo" it but this is on the computer. There is no reason for "undo" to not be included. Navigating is a pain. If you're in another window and click back to the Kindle, you will probably turn a page, or highlight something, or look up a word. Why can't I click on it without it doing something? I will NEVER EVER buy a Kindle book again, and I have made a point to tell everyone I know how terrible the user interface is and the incredibly bad functionality. I can't believe how unusable this was. It made work for my class an absolute DREAD. I don't see how Amazon could release a textbook on the Kindle and have it so dysfunctional (and charge $66 for it). Kindle needs some MAJOR improvements before I will even consider another book for it. If you are considering buying this book for the Kindle, DON'T DO IT. It is a waste of money and time trying to get it to work properly. I am sorely disappointed in this product. What a waste of money!

This book is, for the most part, easy to follow and understand. Some things are out of order and placed in random sections, which can make taking notes hard. And some complicated things are broken down in easy enough steps and definitions to fully understand the concept unless you google it. It's not a terrible book, but it could be a lot better.

The publisher has removed Chapters 17 and 18 and selling them seperately !!
I find it very annoying to find this fact after buying this book. I need to go through the ordering+shipping cost and wasting shipping time again. I'll never trust or buy Wi;ley published book again.

I am really pleased with my rental of the kindle version of Psychology in Action. The rental price on it is about $120 cheaper than purchasing a used book from my college bookstore. I agree with the other reviewer that it would be convenient to have page numbers available, but that was not a deal breaker for me as I tend to read the chapter before the class lecture. My professor does not often refer to page numbers in the text anyway. I had to play around with the format of the book when I first downloaded it, as the text was huge and the page breaks made no sense, but once I had decreased the font size, toggled with the multi-column, and changed the background color, (all easy to do), I found the text 2 be very readable. I use the Kindle for Mac application, and I had no difficulty navigating the book. There are search, table of contents, and bookmark tools which I found to be very helpful. With the table of contents, you can click on the chapter you want, and it will take you there, and there is a dictionary tool so you can highlight a word and instantly access a definition of the word w/in the application without having to open any other windows. Another reviewer had mentioned that when they rented it, there was no way to remove highlighting once it had been done. That has been fixed. Now you only have to click on highlighted text and you can remove the highlight, or add a note to it. Overall, I am very pleased with the product and especially it's price point. I am hoping that amazon will add a lot more textbooks to their rental program in the near future, as it was such a blessing to me to find such an economical option.

Very happy once again with Amazon and their book sellers. The book came as described and in a timely manner. No stress wondering if it would be here in time for school. Appreciate that very much!

Book was in better shape that I expected, and good price. Better than having to buy a new book for only one semester.

I ordered and PAID for a PAPERBACK EDITION! What i got was a loose leaf mess. Seriously for 70 dollars? I would have purchased it new from my bookstore for 90 had I know this is what would come. They really should be embarrassed.
