Worth reading,
By Rich P (California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Psychology of Nationalism (Hardcover)
Searle-White researched this subject in three areas: conflicts in Sri Lanka, Nagorno-Karabakh, and experiments he set up in his classroom. The latter strongly indicate that behaviors observed in nationalist conflicts are a result of universal human nature. It would certainly help if Colin Powell and Pres. Bush read this book! Although academic in nature, it is easy for a reader to understand, even without a background in psychology or nationalism.

This review is from: The Psychology of Nationalism (Hardcover)
This book gives the clue to let people (who feel to belong toa different groups) to live together in peace. It explains perfectly the concepts of Individual Identity and Social Identity and their interaction and influence in human behaviour. A must-read book for any governent facing nationalist movements inside its country. |
