This review is from: The Psychology of Shame: Theory and Treatment of Shame-Based Syndromes (Paperback)
This is my new Bible for the study of Shame. A broad review of the entire subject but uniquely allows the reader to dig deeper into the material so as to reach a much greater understanding of this complex and often misunderstood subject(s).
I have read many text books and books on shame and Gershen has been able to open my mind even further on the subject. He is one of the new bread of Pychology authors which allows the informed student to move freely within the material without experiencing ambiguous ideas or statement within the material. This book can set the stag for our ultimate understanding of a subject that influences our lives more than any other. |
