This review is from: The Psychology of Spine Surgery (Hardcover)
This book is a must-read for behavioral medicine psychologists working in a multi-disciplinary program - especially those working with patients with back pain. The data regarding pre-surgical evaluations is comprehensive. The guidelines regarding conducting pre-surgical evaluations are simple and thorough. And the pre-surgical preparation guidelines and recommendations benefit the surgical patients in stimulating a more favorable long-term outcome. Share this book with surgeons, as it has been my experience that they are quite responsive to this data and information, and helps them see the person behind the pain.
