Book Description

Cornelius Worthington washes up on a Miami beach with a monster in his head.

Natasha Barrett must use her psionic powers to hunt him down.

Seymour Zimmerman, a freelance journalist with a syndicated column about strange deaths, follows in their wake of destruction.

Psychomancer is alternatingly funny and horrific, philosophical and explosive. It asks: When good luck is real, what happens if we end up on the wrong end of someone else's?

Editorial Reviews

Review

Psychomancer is a thriller that takes its reader on a ride into hell and chaos [...] but once you are done reading you realize it was also the story of human weakness, fear and vulnerability. --Novel Opinion

5.0 out of 5 stars More than it seems July 26, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Psychomancer brings refreshing character and perspective to what is often an impersonal genre. Even as fantastic events unfold, the reader never loses connection with the absolute humanity of the "luckiest man in the world" as he learns to cope with a world that he does not understand. Beyond the action and conspiracy, this story is about what it is to be human, and the very real fears that we all face everyday.

The book can be shocking and grim, and maintains a certain humor and atmosphere that make it all the more disturbing. Cornelius's unique point of view, having little knowledge of modern society beyond language, allows for amazing (and sometimes very funny) exploration of the elements of our condition that are so easy to overlook from the inside.

Fear not, action fans, despite the humor and philosophy, Psychomancer is a thriller! The action flows with such description that its easy to forget that you are reading a book. I really didn't expect this level of intensity from such a smart read.

There are very few fiction fans to whom I could not recommend Psychomancer for one reason or another. Its length is not prohibitive, so give it a read even if its outside your genre comfort zone.

Psychic Assassin Natasha Barrett has been working with the CIA for years honing her skills. One day she feels the presence of someone more powerful than she and sets out to capture him. Enter Cornelius Berterm Worthington XV. He has been exiled on a small island until his unknown powers lead him to Natasha. Will she kill him or will he get to her first. Great storyy and excellent action through out. A great way to spend an afternoon in the sun.
