not nearly as radical or disturbing as it claims,
By
This review is from: Psychopath's Bible (Paperback)
While short and fairly entertaining, the author seems to be more impressed with himself than he should be. Many claims are totally unsupported generalizations; the perspective is similar to that given in The Satanic Bible, but I'd say that LaVey said it better and more explicitly. Other similar perspectives may be found in Colin Wilson's writings on crime and the criminal mind.

We NEED More Writing Like THIS!,
This review is from: Psychopath's Bible (Paperback)
This book is rant that as you read it, begins to have a profound effect and creates a strange hypnotic reality. I venture to guess that Mr. Hyatt is gulity of the toxic magic he elucidates. All the more admirable. We need more books like this one, where the author tells those things that rarely are ever articulated. I love the book. It inspires me to stop recycling newspaper, cans and bottles for starters. I for one think that some day people are going to look back on this time in history and laugh at us! Could it be true? Five thumbs up(per hand). Rated R for Reality. I am going to read this puppy over and over.

A very interesting read,
This review is from: Psychopath's Bible (Paperback)
Perhaps not Hyatt's best work, but still very good. While not exactly earth-shattering in its revalations, what it has to say about what it reveals is very good. A very thought provoking book. Do not make the mistake of reading this as Hyatt's self-obessisive dogma on how to use people and get ahead in life, and don't take the advice of a christian on books pertaining to the occult.

Every once in a while, I get sick of the pollyanna and want to read something whole-heartedly negative. This book fit the bill. It is easily digestible and fun.The previous reviewer was right in saying Hyatt is no genius. He is an elitist who, like most of them, can't seem to put his money where his mouth is. The book is not toxic. It is not unbearable. It is not going to shatter your world-view and recreate it in one fell swoop. However, IMO, it is not complete waste. It's entertaining ... in the way the a professional wrestler's rant could be entertaining if he had an IQ and babbled about social psychology from a nihilist's point of view.

Holy Chao!,
By S. Hawke (Western Australia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Psychopath's Bible (Paperback)
This book pulls no punches! Whilst I can't agree wholeheartedly with what I would call the 'absolute destructiveness' suggested here, if you want to know who defines your place in society and how it is defined, you will find this book valuable

DSM what? I'll have another cup of coffee thank you.,
This review is from: Psychopath's Bible (Paperback)
Psychopath's Bible is a scathing but playful, easy-to-read yet insightful romp through the hypocrisies and idiocies of modern society. From the amazingly uselessly archaically horrific nature of the DSM to the unbelievably fascist strictures of the games that people play with power, one is reminded the importance of "THINK FOR YOURSELF - QUESTION EVERYTHING." A comically disturbing and enjoyable read.

Not a comforting read!,
This review is from: Psychopath's Bible (Paperback)
I read this book a couple of times and am still not sure quite what to think of it. The book is very short and can quite easily be read in one sitting - however like many of Hyatts books packs a lot of information into a short space and each re-reading reveals more. As the name would suggest this book is 'dark' in nature and it gives nothing to lighten this. Unlike some of Hyatts other books I did not find this one particularly inspiring, however it is an interesting and thought-provoking read.

An insult to one's intelligence,
This review is from: Psychopath's Bible (Paperback)
While this book is an interesting read, so much of it is an insult to one's intelligence. The author begins by setting the premise that this book is only for those who can handle it, those of superior intelligence and courage not to stop reading. That is enough to make anyone with a higher education stop reading after the introduction. Many of its revelations are just Psych-101 and would not hold the interest of trained professionals or anyone familar with pathologies.

A deadly book! (Deadly boring),
By
This review is from: Psychopath's Bible (Paperback)
Frankly I grew very tired already during the foreword and the introduction almost sent me to sleep. If I read comments by the author to the effect that the book is evil and destabilizing etc etc I expect to be in for and exciting read. This was sadly not the case, I'm not sure what I expected but this book sounds more like an attempt by the author at some kind of self glorification. I thought that apart from the turgid sections there were other parts which were just childish and silly! Sorry Mr Hyatt you are not a Macchiavelli or a Nietzsche or a Crowley and never will be. It would have been better stylewise if an expert editor had had a go at it but the author pointed out that no editor would touch it due to its dangerous nature, yeah right! more likely they could smell garbage!

Well-thought out and expressed, and yet?,
By Vixengrl (Philadelphia, PA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Psychopath's Bible (Paperback)
I *will* probably quote from this book in the future. I * have * already mentioned this book to my friends. The truth is in there--nasty but accurately expressed. If you're already of a slightly negative bent--this book might straighten you; if you're an incureable optimist, it just might fix you. But all the same, I can't exactly say it's all news to me. Once you read it, you may well find yourself thinking the same--but will you like yourself when you do? It's a thought-provoker, and fun.
