This review is from: Psychotherapy Of The Borderline Adult: A Developmental Approach (Hardcover)
What I appreciated most about this book was the developmental perspective. So many books about this difficult disorder focus solely on the symptoms, basically blaming the person whose development was messed up via poor attachments and neglectful or abusive parents. Some of the acronyms get annoying and some of the info is outdated, but one can still learn from the details about the past and present psychology of people suffering from bpd. This book has none of the hyperbole and drama of many of the more current best-sellers which seem more interested in vilifying these people who never learned how to modulate their emotions and navigate relationships while maintaining autonomy.
