This review is from: Psychoville (Paperback)
The March family lives happily in a colorful London neighborhood, but London needs a new road and the family is relocated to a new suburban area of Invicta Cross. They do not fit in, and are not welcome. Young Billy March makes friends w/another damaged soul, but it's not enough. So begins a nasty campaign to make the undesirables leave.
Ten years later, a new couple moves into Invicta Cross, and another nasty campaign begins - this one against the original families that destroyed the Marches. It's dark. Very dark. But so is the humor. This book is an exploration of the soul-deadening suburban experience, and of the consequences of the attendant boredom, pettiness, and greed. |
