Product Description
Abduction! 2
Abduction! 2
Explore the ocean depths.

As cute, cuddly animals begin disappearing in droves across the world, their last hope once again rests in the supernatural leg-strength of Abduction's bovine hero. Abduction! 2 is the follow-up title to Psym Mobile's smash hit sensation, Abduction! World Attack, as you are once again tasked with rescuing your animal friends from their alien abductors.

This time, however, you'll find new items to help you along on your quest--trampolines, parachutes, and even rocket ships are at your disposal. Jump from stage to stage as you travel around the world, save your friends, and pick up a few fancy new hats along the way.

Much of the original Abduction! World Attack has been expanded and improved upon in this sequel--the larger world map, additional power-ups and platforms--as well as new features like music and sound effects, and fun new mini-games.

The core of Abduction's gameplay remains true to its roots: it's a platforming game where players must jump from point to point, using the phone's tilt detection (accelerometer) to steer their character upwards. Abduction! 2 improves upon the original by giving players the option of playing through a more forgiving set of rules (you won't always die instantly from falling off the screen), while keeping the "Classic" option available for those seeking the challenge of the original game.

Expanding on the original map featured in Abduction! World Attack, Abduction! 2 turns players loose across the entire world. Hop your way across each continent: visit snowy Greenland, the sand dunes of Egypt, or even the murky depths of the Ocean Floor--the world really is your playground.

Abduction! 2 also integrates the OpenFeint scoring service add-on, letting players upload their scores to compete against other players from around the world. Jump your way to the top of the leaderboards, or try your hand at unlocking achievements like "Rocket Scientist" and "Fashion Guru" while playing through the game.

Shop 'til You...Drop?

As you play through new levels, you will be shown a difficulty rating based on a star system: start out with only one star for the easiest, beginner levels, then hone your jumping skills as you advance to the nail-biting five star difficulties! Completing each level awards you new ways to customize your Abduction! 2 experience: Medals are awarded for fast clear times, and may be cashed in to purchase exciting new game modes. However, if you choose to take the time to rescue all your animal friends, you may miss out on medals, but will unlock new accessories for your character.

Abduction! 2
Sport a fancy new fez.
Abduction! 2
Climb snow-capped mountains.
Classic Mode

Return to the same classic gameplay of the original Abduction! World Attack. Jump upwards to reach the top platform of each level without falling--if you touch the bottom of the screen, you'll have to start over. The difficulty of Classic mode is sure to appeal to players who enjoyed the original Abduction game, or are just looking for a new challenge.

Adventure Mode

Set out on an epic adventure across the world in search of your abducted friends. In this mode you can fall a short distance off the screen, but if you fall too far without a parachute, you will have to restart the level. Players are also awarded a medal for their efforts here--reach the top as quickly as possible to win bronze, silver, and gold medals, then use these to purchase items at the shop.

Kids Mode

Whether you're too young to grasp the finer points of Abduction's gameplay, or you are simply not the most accomplished platform gamer, Abduction! 2 has you covered. Hop into a Kids game mode to experience casual gaming at its best: no high scores, no falling, and a whole lot of fun.

Quick Game

This mode is actually a set of several different mini-games which may be unlocked through earning medals and spending them at the shop. As an additional feature, Quick Game modes allow you to upload your highscores automatically to the OpenFeint network so you can see how you stack up against other Abduction players around the world. Cash in your hard-earned medals from rescuing your friends to unlock exciting new modes like "Cow Pie" and "8-Bit."

Editorial Reviews

"Abduction! 2 is a very strong follow-up to the immensely popular Abduction!, and will provide gamers with hours of entertainment." -Android and Me

"This game has so many different levels that will keep you entertained for hours on end..." -Droid Gamers

"The genius of the game is in its control simple, in fact, that you can viably play Abduction! 2 with just one hand. Don't expect levels to be unchallenging, though--while this is definitely a game geared toward kids, the later levels can be positively diabolical." -Games Radar

5.0 out of 5 stars Time consuming and entertaining May 27, 2011

This game is a bit repetitive, but perhaps there's only so much you can do in a game where you bounce around using the accelerometer. Taken for what it is, it is an excellent game, though, and I can see myself wasting quite a bit of time on a bus with this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sky's the limit April 11, 2011
Addiction! 2...I'm sorry, I meant Abduction! 2 is one of those games that you don't want to put down. Who knew shaking a phone around like a drunk trying to call his or her ex at 3am could be so cool. The premise is simple an anyone can learn it. But mastering this game, well that takes hard work, dedication, sacrificing time with loved ones, putting aside your job and neglecting your pet. All of this is second to becoming the ultimate cow jumping champion that you are destined to be!

"So what? You just jump this cow onto these platforms and then what? Crap, he fell to his death. OK, I still don't get it. Is there an end to this or do you just keep jumpin...ugh was that a bomb that fell from the sky? Ok one more try."

And there you have it, another initial doubter of this game's power has fallen victim to the addiction. A&E's "Intervention" is not even enough to pull one from this games soul crushing grasp.

This sequel provides you with enough content to actually warrant spending $2 on an app! Don't super size that combo fatty, you're buying this game instead! Adventure Mode, Classic Mode, Kids Mode (hyuk!), and several variations of Quick Mode are enough to keep you occupied until actual Aliens descend to collect us all à la War of the Worlds style. No, not even the couch jumping Tom Cruise can save you now.

What I love best about this game is the ability to customize your character. This game delivers a boatload of accessories to pimp out your cute little cow as she ascends into the heavens on what seems to be a never ending, yet conveniently located platforms and trampolines and rocket ships enough to make Laika jealous (a space race Sputnik II reference? Winning!). But what's that?

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than Doodle May 27, 2011
Verified Purchase
I originally had the first ones free trial which I loved. And being able to get the sequel for free is great. Yes it's a lot of repetition, but it gets harder and more rewarding with unlockable content and characters.

The reason I like it more than Doodle Jumper is because of the extras and Doodle seems to not be as polished as this. Who cares if it's a clone, it's an improvement in my opinion, and isn't that how this world runs? People copying and improving other peoples work? We don't have one car company or one phone manufacturer or gaming system now do we?

2.0 out of 5 stars Repetitive and Tedious May 27, 2011
Verified Purchase
This game provides a mediocre level of fun, with very little variety and a lot of tiresome activities. The game involves an infinitely bouncing cow bouncing off of platforms all the way up to the top of the screen. I primarily played the main Adventure mode, where you play in one 'country' until you unlock others, and then repeat the process. Each country has maybe 10 almost identical levels, with the platforms just changing position a little bit. Each country you unlock has some slightly new feature that makes things more difficult (such as spikes and fans).

It feels like this game was originally a free game that just got padded with duplicate levels and a useless in-game store, and then got a price tag slapped onto it. Now, even if you get this game for free, the price tag still presents a problem, because when games cost money, they have to fill the game with a bunch of needless crap that requires devotion to complete.

On the other hand, the game does have a Quick mode which just lets you jump right into randomly generated levels. Although it should be noted that even this mode has several sub-modes you can't access without wasting time collecting points in the other modes.

At best, when you cut out all the repetitive and tedious elements from this game, you have yourself an average time-consumer. If that's what you're looking for, this game will be ok; otherwise save yourself the time and space, and don't bother filling up your phone with another unoriginal and unfulfilling game.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love this April 2, 2013

I think this is the best game ever. I play it all the time and love jumping up and down. What better way to spend your time than save adorable animals. Best way to spend your time other than playing volleyball.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great game, not a copy of Doodle Jump May 27, 2011
Verified Purchase
I had the original on my phone for a long time, so I was thrilled to see this one hit the free daily deal. It's fun, cute, and works well, and the different worlds and customizations help keep it from getting stale. It's the perfect time waster for when you need a quick break.

For those people giving it a bad review because of the similarity to Doodle Jump, grow up. There's only so much you can do with the "thing bounces on platforms into the air" concept, and at least Abduction adds variety. Besides, DJ is a fine game on iOS, but the Android version is lacking.
