4.0 out of 5 stars Quite Good, September 21, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Pub Rock: Paving the Way for Punk (Audio CD)
Very handy VA album of Pub Rock. Best for beginners or those who are struggling to get these kind of sound resources. It will take years to collect all these in the States. And it is now on CD. How can you complain ? If you are interested in British Beat, this one is a buy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Music, Fantastic Introduction, March 24, 2005
This review is from: Pub Rock: Paving the Way for Punk (Audio CD)
This is the overview of the British Pub Rock Scene. This music was very fashionable in the mid 70's and its echo could be strongly felt into the early 80's.

This is the scene from which Elvis Costello, Joe Strummer, Graham Parker, Nick Lowe, Dave Edmunds and many others sprung. A stylistically diverse DIY movement, these bands all share a no-nonsense love of early Rock and R&B. Some of these folks went on to be stars of the Punk and New Wave scenes, others faded into obscurity. Every song here is a lot of fun and well worth a listen.

Do Eddie And The Hot Rods rock or what?
