I have been a RITS fan for years and heartily recommend them to everyone. They are not "just" a cowboy band, but excellent musicians and overall entertainers (even better in person than on CD). The tunes on this CD show a wide range of flavors from jazzy ("Sands of Texas") to the always great cowboy tunes ("Riding Down the Canyon", one of my favorites). Give them a listen, you will not be sorry. Check out their website!

Better than ever Gene Autry favorites updated and beautifully done by the melodic, sing along, Riders in the Sky. Gene would be thrilled, in fact he was when the Riders performed these songs for him after recording the album. He just smiled and sang along to all the tunes (liner notes). Back in the Saddle Again, and Souix City Sue are real standouts. I just wish the Riders would do Volume 2 of Gene Autry.

We love this group and especially this cd. Great songs and great voices. We have even purchased this cd for gifts.

Anyone familiar with Gene Autry's music will enjoy this terrific tribute. The Riders obviously have a lot of respect for each of the songs chosen for this album, which won't surprise anyone familiar with the group or their backgrounds. While the songs are true to the originals, the Riders do throw in some personal touches along the way...Too Slim's humor on "Sioux City Sue", Ranger Doug's yodeling on "Back in the Saddle," etc.

This is yet another great piece of work by Riders in the Sky.
