5.0 out of 5 stars ONE OF DAZ'S BEST, June 25, 2010
This review is from: Public Enemiez (Audio CD)
DAZ DILLINGER
PUBLIC ENEMIEZ

This is Daz's latest album and to be honest it is one of his best ever, from the deeper tracks to the harder ones this has something for every one. Highly recommended with out a doubt, buy it now I say.

1.YOU LET ME DOWN-a wonderful start to the album with Daz letting loose on this track with the soulful Latoiya Williams on the hook. The beat is absolutely great and Daz sounds excellent over this track and Latoiya is great as usual. Excellent opening track that would make a great single in my opinion.5/5

2.TELL ME WHAT YOU GOT-probably one of Daz's best songs ever because it is about his history on Deathrow Records. Each verse is excellent explaining how he came up with Deathrow, Pac, Suge, and of course the fall out with them. All this over an excellent beat that sounds as epic as the story, has a nice video for this song.5/5

3.LIFE STAGEZ-this song sounds like part 2 of "I Got Dat Fire" from one of his previous albums. This one is kind of another song about his history and what he has gone through and what he does. Daz lays it all down with a great flow over a nice soulful sounding instrumental, great track.5/5

4.NUTHINZ GONNA STOP ME-another old school sounding track like the previous one with a cool sounding beat. Los sounds good on the hook with Daz doing a bit of the screwed sound. This is another great track with Daz letting you know about his self, good song.4/5

5.2ND TO NONE-this is an excellent song Daz made about his mother and how he feels about her. Daz of course pours his heart into this one and talks about what she has done for him. The beat is great as usual and fits into that old school soulful feel like the last couple of tracks. Another great song by Daz about his mother, how could this not be five.5/5

6.TEAR DROPS-now this is what I am talking about, what a great song. Daz does his thing on this track once again with a deeper type song. The production on this track is amazing and is one of the best tracks on this album. This is one of the best songs I have heard ever, wonderful song.5/5

7.IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD-this is one of the songs that has a video for it so I guess it is a single, good song. This one reminds me of other Daz tracks like it would have been at home on one of his other albums. Daz talking about his area and things that happen in it with Los on the hook along side some kids singing a little. This is a good track with a video on the internet, another good beat.4/5

8.MUNCHIEZ4 YA LOVE-this track is obviously about being high on love with Daz killing the track about his lady. Nicole Wray sounds excellent on this track singing on the chorus along side Daz Dilly. This could make a good single as it has a great instrumental for both to do their thing over.4.5/5

9.MY 1 GIRL-this could make another great single for this album, to be honest this whole album could have a video for each song. The beat for this song is excellent and kinda different but Daz sounds excellent on this track over it. Los does his thing on this track as well returning for the third time on the album.4.5/5

10.THE BADDEST-Chris Starr helps Daz out on this one sounding good on the hook. Daz does his thing on here once again talking about his favorite girl like the last couple of tracks. The production on this track is excellent on here and kind of makes me think of a casino for some reason. Any way another good song that is great on this album.4/5

11.MEET ME AT THE STRIP CLUB-now in this day and age this could be one of the biggest hits out there. These types of songs are what run the air waves and Daz definitely does his thing on this one. The beat for this one is off the hook ready for the clubs full of base and such. Could have a nice video full of the ladies.4.5/5

12.PUBLIC ENEMIEZ-the closing track is also the title track and is an excellent choice to end the album on. This track returns Daz to the more hardcore style he is known for, even mentions a movie deal. Daz kills this track and sounds great over this excellent production, this is one of the best tracks on the album, love the guitar on here.5/5

This is one of Daz's best albums ever with out a doubt as each song is great, it even has a lot of classics on here. I would highly recommend buying this now and turning it up while you are riding, excellent album.

4.0 out of 5 stars Near 4.5-stars for his 11th solo album, February 15, 2010

Daz returns 16 months after his last solo album, to bring a solid near-4.5 star album. I have over 2 dozen albums he's been a part of {11 solos, most are 4 stars, 1 classic and 3 I'd give 3.5), 8 Dogg Pound Albums (2 I'd give 4.5, the other six are 4 stars), 2 albums with JT the Bigga Figga (one 4 star, one 3.5 star), an album with 2Pac (4.5 stars), and 3 compilations/Daz presents albums). There is no doubt the man is a long time veteran and consistantly makes solid albums (and beats) year after year, since he first popped up in 1992 on Death Row records. This one is only 12 songs, 1 is a classic, 1 is near classic, 3 are ok, the other 7 are good or real good sogns. Guests are minimal, appearing on 5 songs, but only doing the hooks, no guest rappers are on here at all. Production (like almost every album he's a part of) is very good, though no production credits are given, I'd imagine Daz did all or almost all of the songs and he has some upbeat funky tracks and some slower, deep bass gangsta beats like he always does. A must have album from a west coast veteran.

#1 - 8.5 (f/ LaToiya Williams)
#2 - 10 (CLASSIC -- great upbeat track about his come up with Death Row and dissin' Suge Knight)
#3 - 8.5 (nice beat)
#4 - 9 (f/ Los -- nice beat)
#5 - 9 (nice beat -- deeper song dedicated to his mom)
#6 - 9.5 (tight beat, another deeper mor epersonal song)
#7 - 9 (f/ Los -- another deeper track)
#8 - 8 (f/ Nicole Wray)
#9 - 6.5
#10 - 7.5 (f/ Chris Starr)
#12 - 9 (nice beat)

4.0 out of 5 stars DPG affiliated!, January 26, 2011

Master producer Daz hasn't lost a thing, still dropping dope beats. If u like daz u should enjoy this album. About 80% quality with the rest fillers that are not bad either. This album is mostly daz himself without much of his dpg homies. Best song on da album is track 3 Life stagez. Track 5 stands out with a cold beat and a smokey robinson/Curtis Mayfeild style accompanied background vocal singing da hook. Track 7 is a dope beat, on that Daz is rapping about everyday life struggles in da hood. I like track 8 because it has that classic west coast relaxed sound and goes good with some of dat top notch make u wanna holla! Daz is a great music producer and almost always produces an album that can be played straight thru. But all in all, good album. Keep it up Daz, somebody got to make that real gangsta sh_t!
