Great Introduction to field of disaster management,
By
This review is from: Public Health Management of Disasters: The Practice Guide, Second Edition (Paperback)
This book was selected as a textbook for a graduate level course in Principles of Disaster Mangement at the School of Public Health at Loma Linda. The book was well written and topics were presented clearly. There is a lot of jargon which is part of the public health world, but the book is a good read. There are up-to-date references and websites for further information. Overall, very useful information and I recommend it as a great introduction to the field of disaster managment.

Great book if you are looking for a practical book about medical management of disasters. Actually took the author's course in a public health course for a degree I was seeking (I liked the book...professor, not so much...quite inflexible in the final exam, expected that students practically memorize and be able to parrot the book, I don't memorize!...all good in the end...such is life). As stated before, did like the book and would recommend it. (If you take her course, do any extra credit made available to you, you'll need it when you take the really bogus final exam!)
