This was used for a required college course, "Public Speaking"

Once you're done with the course, unless you're a communications major, then I encourage you to pass this book along to another student.

this book is not the same as the newer edition the subtitles have changed the chapters are different and the wording is very different but still works if you are willing to cope with those differences

this was a required text book for college public speaking. Glad we were able to use an older version because of cost. What can I say, its a textbook

Great text book. Was in used condition, but absolutely usable. The text was clearly understandable and the information was relevant to current techniques.

Book was in condition seller said it would be, and product got to me in the time the seller promised.

When I purchased this book, it came brand new, in a shrinkwrap with a Speech Preparation Workbook by Cynthia Brown El. Upon opening it in class, I found that the book had no binding at all, and the cover itself was just cardboard placed on top to make it presentable. Once I discovered this, it was too late to return it. The bookstore wouldn't take it back, even in the mint condition I had it in (given that that the teacher rarely ever asked us to use the $70 books, it became a lovely predicament).

So, I'm writing this review to warn you; purchase this book only if you believe you're getting your money's worth - because you may never get it back.

I'M CURRENTLY A STUDENT , AND THIS BOOK IS A REQUIREMENT FOR MY ORAL COMMUNICATION CLASS , AND DURING A PREVIEW OF THIS BOOK FROM MY TEACHER , I LISTENED AS SHE READS FROM THIS BOOK , WHERE IN ONE CHAPTER , THE AUTHOR , IS GOING TO STATE THAT : THERE'S A DIFFERENT APPROACH IN PUBLIC SPEAKING WHEN IT COMES TO AFRICAN AMERICANS.... I DIDN'T KNOW THAT AFRICAN AMERICANS HAD A DIFFERENT UNDERSTANDING IF BEING SPOKEN TO THAN ANY OTHER RACE ? I GUESS THE AUTHOR(S) REALLY MENT THAT: AFRICAN AMERICANS ONLY UNDERSTAND STREET SLANG AND BROKEN ENGLISH . SHAMEFUL , MY MONEY WILL NOT BE SPENT ON RACISM AND RACIST .
