This review is from: Publicity: 7 Steps to Publicize Just About Anything (Hardcover)
Wow! This book is a very useful tool! Whether you are publicizing selling lemonade on a street corner or are involved in publicizing in Corporate America, you need this book. We've had writer's manuals, Thesaurus, and the dictionary as useful tools.......put this book right next to them on the shelf and use it often!

Since I am looking for ways to promote my small stationery business, I went to hear David Carriere speak at the Lafayette, CA library while he was on his book tour. I found him engaging and filled with practical advice, so I recently bought a copy of PUBLICITY . I was pleased to find that the book is equally useful - and even better, it reads like the author is sitting with me in my studio, giving me the inside scoop. It's the furthest thing from a dry business textbook and it has already given me some great new ideas.

The perfect intro course,
This review is from: Publicity: 7 Steps to Publicize Just About Anything (Hardcover)
Having tried to read some other 101 books like "Public Relations for Dummies" and "Guerrilla Marketing 2.0" I found myself generally bored to tears reading the authors' war-stories about past successes."7 Steps" is short, simple, well-written and only has two war-stories. In an afternoon I was able to get a simple structure of how to work with the basic tools. This is everything an introductory book should be, and I have found it to be both educational and inspiring. I strongly recommend it to anyone else in my situation who just needs a basic grasp of how to get started with generating publicity.

Must Have for Small Biz Owners,
This review is from: Publicity: 7 Steps to Publicize Just About Anything (Hardcover)
This book got me out there and finally actively promoting my lighting design company. Hardly an easy feat, actually, since I'm not a big showman. Carriere makes self-promotion simple and takes away all the bunk and hot air that kept me away from PR how-tos until now. Anyone with a business, an invention, a good idea should get this book & hold onto it tight. Smart guy, smart tips. I've already seen a spike in new events clients. Couldn't ask for a better return on investment. Highly recommended.

This book is a must-have if you are self-promoting your business or idea. It's an easy read filled with practical, useful tips that will put you on the road to success (and save you a bundle!). I've seen businesses go under way too early simply because they over-extended their resources in advertising to begin with. This book should be required reading for any new or small-business owner! Thank you, David Carriere!
