The best work of Adriana Calcanhotto ever !

Só com um violao. So simple, only her voice and a guitar. So tender and fulfilling. Adriana, sits down and plays songs directly to your heart. Nothing more than feelings, great and passionate experiences about love and heartbreaks.

I love Brazilian music, but my experience with modern singers has improve after Adriana concert @ forum Barcelona 2004. It was a great experience and great performance.

Enjoy the disc, these songs will open your mind to a new Brazilian feeling.
Ear the lyrics!!, Vambora is my favorite (love and pain in the same song), but enjoy Cariocas (really a Brazilian hymn) and Vamos comer Caetano (fun cannibal song to Caetano Veloso) are amazing.

It's a very intimate CD,and a listener should thank on his knees that by buying this little album hes admitted to the closely bound-up circle of insiders :). Basically, all songs when Adriana sings and plays the guitar background are really heavenly tunes,
and there's really a tangible kind of affinity between her and the audience.
But what baffled me, was that apart from the majority, there's: a) a couple of tracks which don't belong to the performance ao livo; b) i don't like people fiddling with the recorded live material (like in the ending of "Cariocas")
The CD is great for its acoustic songs (a must-have!) and very weird coz of all those things added to the input performance. But even if it spoils all the fun, the CD is still worth coughing up a few bucks :)

Definitivamente un excelente CD, del estilo canto nuevo, combinado con sonidos de samba, OJO, el listado de canciones que vienen escritas en la parte superior NO corresponden a las que vienen en el CD

For those who love great brazilian music, here is an album you must not pass by without try. You will found some of the most beautyfull and passionate Adriana's songs in her dazzling voice. Try it. Ps- The cover showed here are not the one of "Publico",it belongs to "Maritimo" another album of these brazilian singer.

Buy it! It is difficult to find a CD that combines such a singer with great songs, some experimental music, some classics, etc. My favorites are 1) "Devolva me" (a lover ask her ex to return her stuff -heart included--with such a beautiful melodic music that make you think this has never said before). 2) Clandestino (politically charged song about "illegal" Latin Americans in Europe and the US, Moroccans in Spain, Bolivians in Argentina); 3) "Vamos comer Caetano" (a loving cannibalistic homage to the father of contemporary pop music in Brazil); 4) "O outro" (experimental music for quite sophisticated lyrics by an important Portuguese poet). Adriana's voice is just magnificent. There is some noise (for about 6 seconds) at the beginning, from the live concert.

Este fue el primer cd que escuche de Adriana. La calidad de su musica me impacto tanto que ya casi tengo su coleccion completa, y todos los trabajos que he escuchado de ella son excelentes. Es dificil encontrar un artista que muestre una consistencia tan uniforme. Adriana Calcanhotto es el mejor ejemplo.

I can't understand a word of portugese, but her guitar playing, and singing just mezmorizes you.......... This CD is a definate must for everyones CD collection.

adriana calcanhotto,no es una novedad en la musica brasilera. Aunque no tan conocida fuera de su pais, su trayectoria supera los diez años. Es una excepcional sor`presa para el que la oye por primera vez. Una voz atrapante, temas bien escritos, ritmos variados con tendencia a una mezcla de balada con lo tipico de brasil. Este cd reune canciones imperdibles ; maritmo, vamos a comer caetano, mais feliz, cariocas, son solo mis preferidos. Despues de oirla ud podra comprobar por que la critica de brasil la ha comparado con la inolvidable Elis Regina, y creo que esa comparacion es el mejor elogio. Un cd para tener y oir reiteradamente, y luego buscar "Publico" su ultimo trabajo, en vivo, acustico, que es una joya de la musica moderna del mundo no ya solo de brasil
