Review

This second edition expands the first and provides further techniques for learning Web page design. What will make this longer-lasting than many computer guides is its attention to analyzing Web and Internet trends. Intermediate to advanced users will appreciate the inclusion of new browser tags, techniques to add background sound to a Web page, and detailed guidelines in creating audio & video files. -- Midwest Book Review

This review is from: Web Publisher's Design Guide for Windows, 2nd Edition: Your Visual Step-by-Step Guide to Designing Incredible Web Pages (Paperback)
This Design Guide was the only reference I used to design my first website, with no prior knowledge of HTML and little understanding of the Internet on the whole. That first site, developed almost three years ago, was simple but successful and has changed little since that time despite changing designers and webmaster several times. The case studies and examples provided are informative and entertaining, and it is written in an easy-to-use format. If you see an example of something you'd like to appropriate for your own design, clear HTML instructions are provided at the end of each section. This is a book that not only offers tips for a beginning developer, but could prove to be useful for a developer who needs to sharpen his/her design skills.
