Book Description

September 18, 2008
Publishing Tips: Weekly Strategies for the Independent Writer, specifies the finer points of publishing as they relate to writing, editing, publishing, having a website and marketing. Clear, concise and helpful, Publishing Tips mirrors the dilettante role of every independent writer, that CEO of one who dreams, creates, and releases his or her work into the world. Publishing Tips follows on the heels of Composition: A Fiction Writer's Guide for the 21st Century, Ms. Lavid's first book on creative writing and publishing. "Consider my first book, Composition, the little black dress, and Publishing Tips, the string of pearls; one a basic, the other an eye-popping accessory.

I bought a few books this year to fill in unknown gaps for writing and publishing in my background. Out of all of them, this book stands at the top. While others were wishy-washy, this book cuts straight to the point and feeds you all the information you have to know, and should know, before embarking on the writing journey. I was fortunate to run into Linda at a Book Arts Fair here in Buffalo, NY. This book caught my attention, and it was the BEST $10 I've spent on my writing venture. Every page offers useful tips for writing and marketing a book. I am working a few non-fiction books, and I found out that not all of the book I bought this year really apply. This one really is for every kind of genre. I look forward to connecting with Linda, and was so excited to find out she is accessible and local.
