5.0 out of 5 stars Bellissima!, August 30, 2000

This review is from: Puccini: Opera Arias And Love Scenes (Audio CD)
This is a wonderful collection for both the budding Puccini fan or the seasoned opera listener. Puccini's melodies are always lush and gorgeous and these two CDs capture him at his very best--from very well-known pieces all the way to the rather more rare, unfamiliar ones. They even include his lovely, moving String Quartet, "Cresantemi." There is a wide range of styles and talent, from the old to the more recent singers and the known and unknown compostions but with such a variety, even if one doesn't care for everything you are bound to like something--and you might even fall in love with the whole thing!

This review is from: Puccini: Opera Arias And Love Scenes (Audio CD)
This is a beautiful array of Puccini's art. If you inspect all of the available Puccini collections, you will most often find several of "the big eight" -- the best loved and most popular of all of Puccini's works. Rest assured -- all eight are here. Additionally, though, in this collection, you'll find 22 other compositions -- some of them relatively unfamiliar, but all of them lovely in that haunting Puccini way. And to hear Domingo, Te Kanawa, Scotto, and Tucker at their very best is a special treat, a treat no one should miss.
