These islands offer visitors an opportunity to see wildlife they may never have seen before: Anolis lizards, manatees, lovely hummingbirds such as the Puerto Rican tody and green mango, sea turtles, and an incredible array of tropical fish, including sergeant majors, blue tangs, and angelfish. This guide was created through the National Watchable Wildlife Program, a unique partnership initiative coordinated by Defenders of Wildlife. Each viewing site in this guide was selected with the help of experts from many of the following government agencies and organizations: Defenders of Wildlife,The U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Tourism, USDA Forest Service, Caribbean National Forest, USVI Department of Natural Resources, Division of Fish and Wildlife, Department of Defense, Coral World, National Park Service, and United States Fish and Wildlife Service.
