This review is from: Puffin Cove: A Queen Charlotte Islands Odyssey (Paperback)
An excellent story about the life of an amazing American couple, - Betty & Neil Carey & their life together in the Queen Charlotte Islands.
Read also "Bijiboji" - the story of Betty's Solo Canoe trip, - the first person, to row the Inner Passage from the USA to Ketchikan in Alaska back in 1937.

Tedious and entirely without value,

I presume that the other reviewer is the author himself. This is a tedious description of a few vacations taken in what is now Haida Gwaii. I bought the book because I thought it would give me some insight into life in the islands but it does not. Moreover, the author's nauseating description of the illegal killing of a bear by an poacher meant that I was unable to finish reading it. The author clearly condoned this senseless slaughter. At another point he shows his wife throwing litter (a bottle) into the ocean. I find it extraordinary that an apparently respectable publisher would taint its reputation with something of this nature. The book is of no value to anyone.
